Default Summer tires

Well i did create a ALL-SEASON tire thread, but I am still not 100% sure I want an ALL-SEASON tire. So I am still looking at summer performance tires. I have searched but there are 2 tires I didnt find) much on.

DUNLOP SP SPORT MAXX

and

NITTO INVO

I know many people might not have these tires, but if the few that do read this, hows the dry, wet, treadwear, noise performance on these?

I was considering the RE050 PP but they are expensive and seem to have very low treadwear.

Well, thanks for any info

First of all congrats on not going with all-seasons.

Out of the two tires listed I'd go with the Dunlop, but if you can stretch to RE050 it's well worth it. OEM on all Ferraris, Porsche 911 carrera, BMW Z4...they must do something right.

I hear the Hankook Ventus is one of the very best non-premium brand tire out there.

I would actually be quite happy with getting 20K out of any performance tire. My stock rear RE040's are pretty much gone after 11K.

also, as i asked before, what do people think of 245-40-18 in the front vs 225-45-18????

Pretty much the same diameter, but has more contact with the ground. Wouldnt this be a good thing?

They are quiet and fride nice , sidewalls i would say are med. much softer than my falken 615's. Next 245 are great for 8 to 8.5 wheels and 255/40's for 9's and larger. I run the 255's and 275's on mine 9 inch wheels front and back.

well im still trying to decide on tires (and trying to use up as much of my current tires as possible). I am either getting DUNLOP SP SPORT MAXX or bridgestone PP RE050.............

My main concern is treadwear, I want them to last atleast 20k, if not more, will either of these do that?

If your primary concern is tread wear, maybe performance tires are not for you.

The Nitto Invo look pretty good. I love the tread pattern. If you do choose the Invo, be careful on the tire sizing as there are not too many load ratings to match the Z's.
