I am installing a set of G35 19" wheels this week...
I finally got a set of G35 19" wheels this weekend. I have to get the rear tires replaced before I can install them on my car. The front tires are brand new.
My question is about the wheel sensors. The g35 wheels have tps installed. I also have the set that is on my current wheels.
Am I better off paying the tire shop to break down all my wheels and tires to swap each sensor to the proper location? Or am I better off just going to a Nissan dealer to have the sensors programmed?
Whenever a tire is removed and reinstalled there is a chance the shop will scratch the rim. Especially with low profile tires. That is what I am worried about.

I think that is what I am going to do.
The dealership I bought my car from has a horrible service department. I work for a Honda dealer so I understand how a service department is suppose to be ran. I really can't believe how bad they are. Every Nissan we have brought to them to have work done has been nothing but torture. I am going to stop by a few different dealers to see if I can find one that will help me out.

The price will probably be cheaper to just have them reprogrammed, and you don't risk them damaging your wheels by unmounting and mounting just to get the sensors swapped
when i dismounted my tires, i didn't have to take off my tires. I used tire machine to press down teh side of the tire, just enough to unscrew and pull the tps out. Also didn't mess up the balance.
Most places nowadays have touchless mounting. No scratches or scuffs.
The only reason i wouldn't do it in your situation is that each wheel would probably cost 12-15 bucks to do.

I thought about using the tire machine at my work but it isn't designed for 19" wheels. I removed the inner valve stem to get ready to use the tire machine to "break the bead". Unfortunately the tire machine at my dealership isn't designed for 19" wheels. Most Honda's have 15-17" rims. It will scratch the rims for sure. The machine we have isn't designed for low profile tires and larger rims. I was hoping that it would work so I could compress the side wall just enough to remove the tps sensors. Unfortunately I cannot. I will ask the guy at Town Fair Tire if he can do it for me. If he is willing to and it can be done without completely removing the tire from the rim then that is what I will do. If not then I will just go to a Nissan dealer for them to program the new sensors to my car.
Hey guys I'm getting a set of wheels without TPS in them. I have a 05' touring so I know if I just slap on the new rims I'll set off the TPS. What is the most cost efficient and safest way to put TPS in my new wheels?
1. take off the ones in my stock to put them on my new wheels
2. purchase them off the classified ads
Tks in advance!
