Default 275 in the front?

I know lots of people put 255/35/19 in the front with no problem, but after reading this
http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com/pr...t_2/index.html
I am leaning towards 275 for the front. Here is the problem, my upcoming front wheel is 19X9.5 with a very low offset (+17), will 275 fit? My car is lowered by an inch and I want to keep the camber within factory spec. Need advice!

the NISMO is a 30mm offset and using 18 inch wheels, and you saw by the pictures that it was snug and that it fit. now a 17mm with a whole inch bigger wheel will probably rub and stick out horribly. for comparison, this guy ran a 19 x 9.5 up front with a +28 mm offset. granted he was lowered and running a 245 on the front but you get a visual

Thanks z04 thats what I thought after I have done research on the board, but I cross my finger and hope someone with more knowledge (than me at least) on the offset/tire size issue will figure out a way to do it, anyone?

how about 265/30/19 with more negative camber? haha I know I am pushing it..

if it makes you feel any better, several porsche models from the factory have huge differentials front to rear, like 235 front, 295 rear. And they get high skidpad ratings. I liked the above article also, but I think there are going to be trade offs going that wide in the front and that a higher skidpad rating can be obtained in other ways like adjusting camber, tire selection, etc...

yeah I realized that most porsches have narrower front tires than rear, and everyone knows porsche make great cars. But you are talking about a different car now. 350z and a porsche, let say the cayman s, have different wheelbase, curb weight, front/rear weight ratio, probably the chassis rigidity, not to mention the cayman s is mid-engine. So I dont think we should follow what porsche does because we are talking about a totally different design.
The article above really inspired me. I believe to make the z perform better, we need to correct "the problem", for instance, too much understeer. Thats the reason why I want to have same size tire for front and rear.

I've heard handling will feel funny with too wide of tires in the front. I have 255 in the front and corners like a champ. don't care about anything wider.

Personally, I'd try to go with 265 in the front and 275 in the back (or 275 in the front and 285 in the back). Because this car is RWD, some of the rear wheel's traction is ate up by acceleration ... so it'd be better if the fronts were just slightly smaller than the rears.

Though, stuff like that could be corrected via suspension tuning, thats just my suggestion.

I might just put 265 in the front, because 275 is a lil bit risky, offset is too low (+17)!!

Im running a 265/30/19 with a +9 offset with some neg. camber, but I am also pretty damn low. With more height it would be easier. Depending on the tire, I would say its possible for a 275 with the +17...

Okay, so you read that article from SCC and think you want to replicate that setup, right? Before you do, please read this follow up editorial on that same car, from an issue earlier this year.

From what I can tell, running same size tires all around is probably a very good way of having neutral handling, but if you're not careful with it, it could very well bite you in the *** (pun intended). Just some food for thought.

Hmmm so could anyone recommend what size tires to run with if I have 18 9.5's +28 all the way around?

I read that article also and had thought of going 275/40 all the way around also. But now Im not so sure.

I want Potenza RE050A PP's. Im considering going 255/40 f's, and 285/30 r's. This is with Tanabe GF210's for the drop. Anyone have any input on if this will work? Would 285/35 work better for the rears?

Same size tires & rims all around will give you the flexibility to rotate them, in addition to giving you more balance. Staggered setup limits you.

I'm running
front -- 265/35/18 on a 9.5 +22
rear -- 275/35/18 on a 9.5 +22

my next set will be 275/35/18 front 275/40/18 rear

hypersprite has some killer pics of this setup on +30 Nismo rims
http://www.hypersprite.com/auto/pict...17/default.asp

I doubt you'll be able to fit 275's on the front with a +17 offset... at the very leat its going to be really tight... if its a street only car i'd stick with the typical 245 or 255 front & 275 rear setup
