As for wheels that tuck in the fender well, they can get curbed just as easily as any others.

I agree that the E46 isn't worth the extra cash as the Z. Any year Z can keep up with one with bolt-ons in a straight line, and the Z costs $20,000 less. I even like the looks of the Z better.

I had an '03 Touring with 18" stock wheels and hated them. Changed them to TSW's. With my '07 Touring 18" ers, I like them and probably will only change them if they fit on a Murano we hope to buy in the future.
OEM is just fugly!! i have the oem 18's still from my 35th ann model car and they look o.k but offsets are really bad, they look sunking in.. so i guess looks is why i did it.. very happy with the out come vs the money ive spent..

Well I do have to say I am harboring a inner love for the new Axis Super Hiro (time attack style) with the orange strip...but $400/pop, then bigger 19" tires and I'll be hitting 3K easily....sigh...back to work

i hate the older model 17s. i LOVE the older track wheels. i REALLY LIKE my stock 06 18s. and i ********** over the 06/07 rays.

It's always obvious when a thread begins to die when the postings begin going off-subject. It's happening here, and as usual. I would like to put the thread back on track (sort of since this is slightly off-topic) with another comment.
When I had my stock 225/45-18 Bridgestones mounted on stock wheels ( I have the 2000 Performance model); if I touched a curb, the result was a scratched wheel (I did this
).
When I replaced the stock tires on my stock wheels, I installed 245/40-18 Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 tires on the front. The Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 has a softer sidewall that allows the tire to bulge a little past the wheel. This tire also has a protective rib near the bead-point that protrudes even more past the wheel's edge. It's obviously a protective feature that Goodyear builds into the tire to protect the wheel. If I pull too close to a curb (the "Britney Spears...Oops, I did it again"), the tire rubs first and protects the wheel from scraping . Of course you can defeat this "early warning system" and it's protective design by hitting the curb hard, but it does provide an extra measure of protection.
