I have an offset issue and I need some opinions.
Here is some history to note:
This is on a 07' G35.
I recently had new GTS's installed. Offsets are +17F, +18R (9.5F, 10.5R). Originally we tried to fit a 295 on the rear but had serious rubbing issues(even with fender rolling). The car has been dropped an inch and more neg. camber was out of the question. I'm f/i so more neg. camber=less traction. Anyway we put 285's on and they worked with no rubbing. My issue is that the wheels/tires stick out the fender about a 1/4" and I want 295's and preferrably 305's. So to be able to run that wide of tire I need higher offset. Plus I want my tires and rims to be as close to flush as possible w/o rubbing. I have decided to go with a +37 with 107mm lip. Don't question those numbers as they came directly from Ray's fitment chart. That manages to be nearly 3/4" tucked compared to the +18. Here is my dilemma:
1. THis seems to be the offset to run when using wider tires, why don't more people run this combo when desiring more traction?
2. Could it be that I have lost it and have no clue?
3. Will this offset likely rub the inside fender well now?
4. If someone has a better setup in mind please let me know.
This entire offset issue/debate has given me a monstrous case of diarrhea and I'm now going to relieve myself.
Thanks for the help.

it really sounds for what you want you need to get your fenders cut. get them cut and run a higher offset in the mid to high 20's and you shouldnt have issues with 295's. with this setup you should be able to avoid rubbing and still have a low enough offset to give you the flush look.
To run a 305 with no issues, you need something around +28-32....that new offset sits wayyy to far in IMO and will look silly. On another note, you wont see a big differnce from 285-305 in terms of traction believe it or not on 99% of street tires. If your spinning that bad a set of 275 drag radials will hook better than 305's street tires. I run 285/35 with-1 camber and lowered +22 with no rubbing, and no traction in 1st-2nd, just live with it
