Any idea why they were discontinued?

...Poor sales? ... Not enough redline or other owners wanting/buying this wheel?

They were discontinued because they were LEs (Limited Editions) from the start. They were always going to be limited and it was known from the beginning that they would not always be available, although they were available for quite a long time.

There are a few remaining sets floating around. You might be able to find a set.

So... why were they LEs from the start. ...Limited/small market?

Just like the time attacks some models were meant to be produced for a certain amount of time and then new models come out. the only ones that they have kept throughout since the dawn of time is the TE37 cause they are classic and never get old.
