My SSRs have been recently flipped, as in I flip the faces in the rear to achieve a bigger lip from 5.5" rear lip to. 6.5" rear lip, thus changing the offsets all together.

So I've asked this question before n didn't really get on here to check this thread for the answer. someone here said you measure offsets from your Hub . Your hub on your rotor is +0 , is this correct? If so +0 is where the hub meets the faces of the wheel right? Which changes my calculations on my offsets then . Can someone please verify this to me.

I had thought my offsets were 19x12 -13 cause someone told me the center of the wheel is 0 offset. So I measured 12 inchs from bead to bead, the center of the wheel would be at 6inches with a 6.5" rear lip now, that 1/2 inch going away making it 12.5mm (I rounded up to -13).

I only brought this up cause I couldn't figure out why test fitting my friends rotiforms (edafes old sjc) 18x12 -16 I had so much wheel gap. I thought it was odd but I just let it go n didn't bother but now hes selling the rotis n getting another set these are 19x12 -26 and the lip size to offset ratio is what brought this issue back up n back to my attention

My question is that I have the same size 19x12 with a 6.5" rear lip. I'm very confused since the 19x12 -26 has a 5.5" rear lip . I thought the bigger the lip the more negative the offset?

Sorry for the longest question , but someone here knowledgable enlighten me please!

I am assuming this is what you were doing from your description. Measuring the lip from spokes to front or back outer edge is not going to determine offset as the spokes are different thickness from wheel to wheel.
Get a straight line/level (larger than your wheel diameter so anything over 22" would be good) and place across the front of your wheel.
Get another straight line (smaller) ruler or whatever that will go from the back of the barrell up against the back side of the wheel hub where the lugs would come out.
Use a measuring tape and measure distance between the two.
If it is say, 7 inches and it is a 12 inch wheel
then subtract 6" (half of width of wheel) by the 7"
that would give you -1"
and convert to mm by x 25.4
hope that makes sense

sorry for the premature post (battery on phone died)

Your measurements are correct. There is more than just lip size to take into account, such as style of the face, disc type (hi, med, low, super low...), etc.

For instance, my rear Garsons are 19x12-12 offset, but they have nearly an 8" lip. Other wheels with this size of lip are certain styles from Weds, Leon Hardiritt, etc, but to get that big a lip from them, you have to go with like a 19x12-69 offset. So what's the difference? In this case, it's the face style. The LHs and Weds with those huge lips have a flat face, where the spokes on my Garsons curve back into the wheel, giving room for more lip.

Also, think about one-piece wheels, concave wheels, etc. You can see how you can still have aggressive negative offsets without necessarily having a bigger lip.

From what I can tell, when I look at those wheel sizing charts, most companies have pre-sized lip choices. For instance, you can get a 125mm lip (I'm making these numbers up for arguments sake) on wheels of certain widths with certain offsets and certain pad types (hi, med, low, super low). What I take from this is that they produce (or buy) quantities of fixed size lips, and then on each wheel, they make the offset adjustments in the centers (and pads) and barrels.

Additionally, there is a difference in your wheel sizing b/c you flipped the barrel. Obviously, by doing so, you didn't change the width of the wheel, but you did change the orientation. Do the same thing to your friends Rotiforms, and you'd see a similar result, and he'd have a correspondingly large lip...

PS: Just re-read your full post. The spot where your hub (on the wheel) meets the rotor is NOT 0 offset. The center of the wheel is 0 offset, and the distance from that point to your hub, in mm, is your offset. Plus or negative depends on which way the hub moves from the center. Towards the inside of the wheel is negative, towards the outside of the wheel is positive.

Here are a few pictures I took today of my Z at the Pitch Black 2013 Kickoff meet. Today is the first nice day we've had in a very long time. It's actually warm outside.

Enjoy!

19x10 & 19x11 -7. Sissy specs compared to what most guys are doing now a days... I'm thinking about going a couple inches wider for this season along with some body work.
