Question Pressure monitor question..

I've got a perf. model, with non-Rays.

Just put on 18" Rays which are supposed to have the monitors in them. After driving for 20-30 min, the computer shows "--" as if it doesn't get a reading.

Might I need to disconnect the battery or some BS like that ? Or is it possible that the monitors are simply missing ?

I'm not positive, but I think you need the dealer to calibrate them.

Looking at the shop manual, you seem to have to have at least a Consult II, and preferably a Consult II combined with a transmitter activation tool to register the sensor IDs.

Confirmed. When I spoke to a Nissan tech they said I may have to re-calibrate mine when I installed them to another wheel. Looks like I'll have to do it as only two are registering, one front, and one rear....

Maybe the one who sold you the Rays took out the monitors.

ummm Im not totally following, you have performance, so where your sensors go? you should use them...

I took mine out of my tires, put them in my new tires, and they worked, it wasnt done at the dealer, and I was the first person to drive the car when they finished, so I know that no adjustments were done. just worked as tho nothing changed.

somethin isnt right with your setup, either they arent your sensors(which then you might need them to be calibrated to recognize the new sensors) or there are no sensors in them for some reason.

I had the tire shop install the stock sensors on my new wheels and no adjustments or programming was needed. All four work fine.

slay2k - If you didn't have the stock sensors in your old wheels, or if the new wheels have someone else's sensors, I would think a trip to the dealer would be in order (your dime ) if you're sure the sensors are there.

BZNYA - you seem to have a different problem as it sounds as though you are using your stock sensors. If two are working, and two are not, it may be an installation problem.

Ditto- pulled the sensors out of my stock wheel and mounted them in my Volk's- no problems whatsoever.
