Default '05 Z Tire Wear

Good Afternoon Gentlemen,
I've got an issue with my Z that I'd like to get a few opinions on. You '05 guys in particular, but anybody can chime in.

Basically, I recently took my Z in to get 2 things looked at. First, the idle was low, and 2nd, I was getting some tire roar around 25 mph that led me to believe that my tires were feathering. Considering the car was still under warranty and that issue should be covered, I didn't even look at the tires myself before taking it in.

The dealership called me back while they had my car and said that the tire roar was just because my front tires were dead and needed replacing. My Z only has 20k miles on it, so this came as a bit of a surprise to me. I said no, and looked at the tires myself. Both front tires are worn substantially worse on the inside than the outside, but nowhere on the tire is the wear down to the wear bars.

I called the dealer back, and informed the guy I've been dealing with of my observation, and he basically said that since it was a sports car, the tires are adjusted and will wear that way, which I don't believe for a second.

Now, what is everyone's opinion on this? He's just trying to keep from fixing anything?

Thanks,
Acumen

There not post to wear that way. But is a common problem with the Z. Always has been. Not much to do but replace tires and get an alignment.

What brand of tire? Because the original Potenzas really suck on track, but seem like they will work as a daily driver/ no tire feathering on mine with coilovers and a fresh alignment

I currently have the stock potenzas up front, Michelin PS2's on the back. The front tires are the ones in question. I haven't taken the car to the track, and to my knowledge, the previous owner never did either.

My brother's RX8 tires wore that way too. Just the other day I noticed as he was replacing his rear tires, that the inside of his tire was worn significantly more than the outside...there was a whitish extreme wear on the inside.

On a side note, I would check the alignment.

Same problem with my 05 Z 17" wheels. Just ordered new tires, second time replacing them. I will likely get an alignment this time. First time I purchased Falken Azenis 512. Now I will be trying Nitto Neo Gen ZR.

Good luck on getting them corrected with just an alignment.
