Default Tire pressure light after 2.5 years?

I've had my Volks on my car for 2.5 years now. Since a few days ago, my TPS indicator came on. WTF? it has never came on since i've put my volks on...

EDIT: I DO NOT have the TPS sensors on my Volk wheels, which is why i question the indicator light...

I imagine that if you are getting some of the cold weather that we are getting in Atlanta that might have something to do with it. Also, the TPS light comes on when the tire pressure is low - which might happen after 2.5 years... this information is all in the owners manual, too.

So, uh, I hate to suggest it, but have you checked your tire pressures?

I'd look at the basics before wondering if your TPMS sensors are failing. It's free, it's cold outside...

cold temps will drop pressure. just check the pressure. I inflated my tires to 40psi just 3 weeks ago. I checked them this past Sunday and they were down to 35psi with the weather changes we've had.

The dash light will come on after 30 minutes or so of driving if the sensors are not detected. Mine does it all the time after 30 minutes.

According to the TSB, there are three possible causes:

1) TPMS failure
2) Loose long term storage fuse
3) TPMS ECU connector pulled out

I would check #2, see image below. If it is not #2, take it to the dealer:
