Default New summer tyres for Z?!

Hello everyone, I am new Z owner (2004 MT) .
Soon, thinking to change old-bad tyres to new, so my question is - It is possible to install and drive without problems 245/40/18 Front 255/45/18 Rear ??! Thinking to buy MAXXIS Z1 VICTRA tyres .
Thanks

Welcome. You give me very little information about your car. What size are the wheels? Do you have VDC?

There are TWO (4+4) R18 Wheels i get from old car owner:
1) 4x Original 350Z NIssan R18 (right now for winter wheels, but may-be for summer to...) - possible to use 245/40/18 front + 255/45/18 rear?
2) 4x Not original wheels, but they looks a bit hmm larger... R18.

I not sure about 255/45/18 for rear, as i remember 245/45/18 (front+rear) works for EU version of 350Z very well...

p.s. thanks for welcome, there are only 4 350Z`s in Estonia

the "245/40/18 front + 255/45/18 rear" will fit onto stock rims without issues...but if you have VDC, you'd probably want to check that the tire diameter ratios of front to rear are the same/similar as OE - otherwise you're traction control could get messed up.

You did not tell me the wheel size.
You did not mention VDC.
Goodbye.

I dont think 255 will fit on a 18x8.5 wheel... itll have to be squeezed, or just wont look right...IMO

I have f 245/40-18” and r 245/45-18” on a Z equipped with four 18x8” wheels and VDC. This setup matches the OEM tires’ overall diameter and works fine. Handling is slightly different (quicker turn-in and less under-steer).

I cannot personally report on an all-square setup (245/40-18” all around). 245/40-18” is slightly short (OD) for the rears, but I don't know if that variation that is a problem with VDC or TCS.

/slight hijack.

Spike,
I'm thinking of going the same route as you when I purchase tires this summer (F:245/40/18, R:245/45/18). I'm leaning towards the Goodyear GS-D3's. May I ask what brand you are running?

Thanks.
