Default are my tires trashed?

hey i have only had the z for a few months, i don't drive much as it is and i try and take the motorcycle when i can so i have only pt about 1000 miles on it(other than the drive home from Boston). the tires on the Z are summer tires so i dont expect them to do well in the cold.

but they are horrible in the rain, even a little bit of water and the vdc is getting a work out. its so bad i once pulled over on the highway cause i thought i had a flat or something(it was just the vdc working over time)

today it was 65 degrees out and though it rained earlier it had done little more than drizzle in the proceeding 2 hours and in the 15 minutes or so i spent on the highway at 70mph the vdc kicked on like 4 times

so is the z that terrible in the rain or are my tires totally f-ed?
they have plenty of tread(maybe rotten or heat cycled out?)
forgot to check what kind of tire they are and the car has about 50k on it

Its probably your tires... I have no issues driving in the rain or even light snow ....

It is your tires; you might check out the threads in the tire section for ideas on better shoes.

The Z does prety well in wet weather...all tires are not equal, and it sounds like you may have the wrong sizes with the VDC kicking in so frequently.

read the sidewall on the tire and let us know the type of tire and size.

You may just be driving on crummy rain tires. What kind are they?

the tires are some crappy brand i have never heard of, and though low on tread life they aren't that bad.
they are the right size the grip is so shitty that the vdc really needs to do that much work
after not even being able to drive in the rain today, i will be ordering tires on monday, ill let you guys know how the new one are next time it rains here

Also, are you running on factory rims & tires? If not, what sizes are you using?
