TPS Sensor dash light?????
Hi All,
I did a search and could not find the answer. Does anyone know if there is a fuse to disconnect the TPS dash light next to the fuel gauge?
I removed my sensors on my HRE wheels and of course the dash light stays on. I don't mind the PSI blinking that much but the dash light is annoying.
Thanks.
Jeff

thats strange that your light stays on. when i changed out my wheels, i didnt bother putting the tps sensors back in. i have no warning light in the dash, besides the blank dashes in the trip computer. maybe there is a way to reset the light.
DrDrilz,
I have the blank dashes too but the PSI under the blank dashes flashes continuously. The light in the dash is next to the fuel guage and looks like a flat tire.
Did you disconnect the battery at all? I wonder if that would reset it and turn off the warning lights like yours. I was thinking of removing the TPS reciever wich is located next to the ECU but don't want to screw up anything to do with the info the ECU is getting.
Let me know if you did anything special when you removed your sensors.
Thanks.

here is how you fix it. you might not like it.
I bet both of you had the light on when you took off your tires right? it is just continueing the last warning that it had info for, the last time it got info a tire was under inflated. It hasnt gotten any new info.
if you put your stock tires back on, inflated them to where they need to be, and drive around till the warning goes off. then put your other tires on, itll be fine, no warnings anywhere.

Actually I didnt have the light when I took off my stock rims. And it came on. Here is what happens to me. When I start the car the light is not there. But after about 75miles of straight driving the light comes on. If I turn off the car the light goes away. The cycle repeats. So as long as I dont go on a long drive I never see the light or any warnings. I'm pretty sure this is how it is for everyone. For those that think they dont have the light, go on a long road trip.

mine was activated when my tires came off, and I had the warning always, it never beeped, but the lights were all on for it. but others said theirs were off and werent on before either. guess they never took a long drive.

Sounds like that may work but I don't have the original tires and rims and the sensors are out on a shelf. I wonder if I could pressurize them somehow near the car to get the lights off?
I may just unplug the TPS reciever in the dash and see what that does.
Thanks for the help.

After thinking about it a while and reading what Ares said I Think I know what happened. The sensors were taken out and I took them home in the front seat of my car. The receiver must have got the signal from the sensors on my front seat and of course no pressure so the warning lights lit up. Since there has never been any new info from the sensors because they are out, the lights stay on.
It all seems to make sense now. I'll have to figure out how to pressurize the sensors near the car to get the warning lights off then remove the pressurized sensors out of signal range from the car.
I appreciate all the help.

Thanks for the info importriders.
I think I'll just unplug the reciever then. I do go on long trips and unpluging the reciever would be easier than trying to pressurize the sensors.
Thanks again.

If you disconnect your receiver and want to sell it. Let me know. I maybe interested in purchasing.
