Default Sorta Noob Question!

I know. i have searched and found answers. alot of different answers. Thought i would jus ask and be specific.
I am in the market for new wheels, and was wondering on ideal sizing for my situation.
I don't want crazy big wheels. or anything that will pronounce stiffness on the road. I like a little bit of rubber around the wheels. not super low profile. I also don't want to look like i am riding on 4 donuts.
What would be the ideal sizes and offsets for 18" wheels? I don't need rubbing or rolling of the fenders. nothing too drastic, just a little prettier than stock.
Thanks

There are no ideal specs for wheels. Find another members set up that you like. Duplicate it. No need to reinvent the wheel.

18" wheels that you are considering is a wise choice:
  1. 18" wheels provide a more comfortable ride than 19" or 20" wheels.
  2. 18" wheels are argueably a better choice if handling is a priority.
  3. Tires for 18" wheels cost less in comparable sizes for 19" or 20" wheels.

A good setup for 18" wheels is 8.5x18" front and 9.5x18" rear with at least a 22 offset.

A cost efficient and common tire size for these wheels is 245/40-18" front and 275/40-18" rear.

A relationship between front tire feathering and wheel offset? Not that I am aware of. See: https://my350z.com/forum/maintenance...ering-fyi.html

What is your price range, moderate to some is one thing and different to another. Look at our sponcers in the for sale section.

I got mine for around $1500 for new wheels, new tires and new spacers. I got AZA wheels 18/8.5 front and 18/9.5 rear, Tires are Sumitomo HTR Z III 255/40/18 front and 275/40/18 rear. The offset for the wheels was +35 so I also got 2 sets of 20mm KICS spacers. The offsets are now +15 front and rear. I think it looks good for the price (we all cant be rich) and the car grives great!! My wheels look just like SSR GT3 wheels, but cost alot less http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...All&sort=Brand

Figure $800 for tires. Leaves you with $175/wheel. Check Sears.

If you're looking to spend $1500, the private classifieds is your best bet. If you don't mind buying used, you can find a great set of wheels at the price you are looking for.

BTW, someone was selling a set of 18" Enkei rpf1s in your price range in the classifieds. Great wheels for the money IMO.
