Default What tires are on your 350Z?

What tires have been on your 350Z and which tires did you like best.

Break them down like this on scale of 1-10 on categories...

Tire: Bridgestone potenza RE040
Look: Scale 1-10
Performance: Scale 1-10
Longevity: Scale 1-10 (No. of Miles)
Would you buy again?

Falken 452s
Loads quieter than the stock re040s were and decently priced.
I don't do a whole lot of 'enthusiastic' driving, but they grip better than stock, for sure.

Probably, but I'm gonna try something else as my next tire. You only live once, so, its good to try new stuff. Experience. <!-- google_ad_section_end --><!-- / message -->

Longevity: 2000 miles unknown, supposedly good
Would you buy again? Probably not - nice ride, quiet, but transient response sucks

Same.

Except for Longevity: Close to 30k miles on them and just got to the wear bars...

Although, I think I would be somewhat of an exception because I drive conservatively for the most part - Z is pulling DD duty.

You can get these comparisons (with even more factors than you suggest) on a very broad range of tires from hundreds to thousands of users on tirerack.com.

Tire: Bridgestone Potenza RE050A Pole Position
Look: Sidewall=8.5 Tread=7
Performance: 9
Longevity: 8.5
Yes, I would buy again.

If you can, get your tires filled with nitrogen. When I had my tires filled with nitrogen, my tire pressures were a LOT more consistent than they have been now with regular air. Now I see psi of about 33 when cold and can get up to 38 after a lot of driving in pretty hot weather. Laaame

Thoses sites are great and everything but they are for different cars with different suspensions.

It's better to get a first hand perspective from actual 350z owners.

Nitto 555's.

Ride/comfort: 9
Noise: 7
Dry Performance: 5
Wet performance: 3
Wear: 8 - have approx 8-9k on them, no signs of wear.

All based on 1-10 scale....
I won't buy these again. They just aren't sticky enough for my excessively "excitable" right foot.

Having said that, they did great on an emergency stop from 60mph to about 10mph. they held the road well enough for the ABS not to kick in, which is always good.

Default Goodyear GS-D3

Tire: Goodyear GS-D3's
Look: 10 (imho)
Performance: 9 dry, 8.5 wet
Longevity: 6K miles & still lots of tread left
Would you buy Again? Without a second thought.

The only thing I feel I ought to mention is that the sidewalls are just a tad softer than the OEM RE040's. Nothing that would impact performance to any great degree, but coming off nearly bald RE040's and slapping these puppies on took a day or two of adjustment. When these babies grab on they don't let go, and they're very communicative at the limits.

Hotness

This thread will be EXTREMELY FLAWED!!

People are rating their tires based on their own thinking, and I doubt everyone here has used more than three different brands/types of tires.
