Default Nismo Z Tire size. Go back to OEM?

Well i have nismo wheels 18 * 9 an 19 *10 running F 255/40/18 and rear 285/35/19.. The ride is bumpy as hell and getting real annyoing driving in New York City ..
My question going to OEM 245/265 would there be a big difference in ride quality from what im experienceing now.

I have a set of 03 track rims to trade if you still want to get rid of them.

no, your ride will still be bumpy. like was posted before you need to do something with your suspension if you are suffering from a crappy ride.

Tires also make the ride stiffer or softer. I went from the OEM tires, to KDW2s and my ride got nicer in the sizes in my sig.

Well i gotta say then the Michelins are a hard *** riding tire then
Next time around i'll downsize to OEM and pick a softer riding tire as well

Ah... True.

But please keep in mind that the stiff sidewall also serves to distribute bump force exerted on the tire around the whole perimeter of the rim. A tire that rides softer over bumps is letting the sidewall compress more in one area under bump force which allows for more potential to dent your rims

But if you want a soft side-walled tire that is still very sticky, get the goodyear F1 GS-D3. Very comfortable riding tire. Ultimate cornering grip is VERY good. I hate mine though.

I have them in 255/35/19 and 275/35/19. After coming from the GT re050a, to these goodyears, I have a whole lot more body-roll feeling and sluggigh turn-in response. Even with short sidewalls. But a comfortable ride.

On the other side of the coin, my wife has the re050a Pole Positions on her car in 255/40/18 and 275/40/18 and her car feels like it's on rails. We both have stock suspension so it's the tires. Hers with more sidewall height are WAY stiffer then mine with less side-wall height.

OP, I think for where you drive, you'll like the F1 GS-D3, but WATCH OUT for potholes and bumps - you don't want to dent your rims.

Me? I'll be scrapping mine next year for some Michelin PS2's. If the pole positions came in my size, i'd go for them, but they don't

Hmmm trust me i m already weary about potholes and manhole covers in Manhattan.. I've had 3 other sets of aftermarket wheels and have destroyed them all here in Manahattan and NewJersey..
I'll probably have to stick with these PS 2 tires last thing i want is bent wheels yet again.. Surprisingly i must say these OEM wheels are strong as fock ive hit many bumps potholes and not one bent wheel to date..
