Default Who plays the waiting game and who settles? (pertaining to rims)

Ive always wanted a set of gloss black work meister s1's for my ZR and my budget can finally allow for them. Ive waited and waited (and waited) to see if anything would come up in the classifieds section and I really couldn't get anything which I thought was reasonable (or saw the ad too late). This made me decide to step down a bit a look around for other gloss black rims I liked. I DID see a few (volks--sevas[maybe mine wont crack!] ), but I was still a bit iffy on them.

I'm currently online about to order a slew of new parts and don't think the car would look complete without the rims, so I was thinking about settling with a "lesser", non-meister rim (unless someone knows someone selling some gloss black meisters ) because I dont know how much longer it would be until I find a decent used set (dont have enough for a new, vendor priced, set + tires) its been around 2 months of waiting, but Im afraid that right when I get some other rims, the meisters will pop up in classifieds.

Would you settle for your second option or wait until....who knows?

What's your budget? And you might actually want to be proactive and not wait for people to post and just pm each of the vendors yourself to get a quote (just because they dont post about it, doesnt mean they don't have any in stock or on sale) and post up a WTB post in your regional and the classified section.

You don't want any lesser wheels. People will point and giggle. Hey there goes the guy with the lesser wheels.

IMO, if you're that picky about ur wheels, wait it out for the ones you want. You seem to be set on the meisters, so if you get anything else, you will never be as satisfied.

I wouldn't go for any o'l black wheel with a polished lip though. It's the step-lip that gives the S1's that look. SSR Professor SP-1's look almost like Meisters too, but they're pretty rare.

Wait a little until spring. Not too many people are in a hurry to unload and buy new wheels right now.

ive sat and thought about it rediculously long today and think im going to stick it out and wait for the meisters?

not turning this into a classified's ad but if anyone knows someone willing to get rid of their s1's LET ME KNOW asap

as for the above question my budget is around 2600 for the rims then add on how ever much i want to spend for tires. one vendor on here is offering close to that so we may have a winner. it'd be great if i can find a used set w/ tires for under 3k!

+23 and +24 isn't too bad IMO. I personally would run 285s on the back...

waited 4 months for my gunmetal color volks. I never settle on stuff. I waited 7 months to have my custom guitar made a few years back.

My advice is "never" settle when it comes to your wheels. If your going to spend that much do it right the first time. People who settle end up selling their cheepos for less and dishing out extra $$$ for their initial first choice down the line.....in the end you wasted money on two sets of wheels instead of waiting and saving a few extra $$$.

It took me 6 months to decide for wheels and an extra 4 months waiting period for them to arrive. I could not be happier

Lucky bastard!

You'll love the wheels man, even more now that your gf got them for you.
I kinda liked my meisters when I got them, but now I'm really attached to them. You start imagining them on all sorts of cars. Really a timeless set of wheels.

Definitely wait on the wheels you really want.

I must have gone through 5 sets of wheels before buying the wheels I wanted(which were VS-XX).

If I had to do it all over again, I would just do it right the first time.

Yeah, they cost more, but the wait was definitely worth it. I don't plan on buying any other set of wheels for this car ever again.

If you've been dreaming about them, then now is the time to fulfill that dream. Seriously. Get something "lesser" and you'll regret it.
