It's 29 degrees outside this morning when I checked my tires before I left for work. (The car had been sitting in the garage for about 8 hours) The pressure readings came out to be 31's in the front and 30 and 32 in the rears. Do I need to make them 35's all around in this cold weather? It seems its going to get warmer soon. What should I do?
I'd keep an eye on those readings. I don't know if your roads are as bad as mine over here in MA, but I wouldn't let those tires get below 29-30 psi. Crunching a wheel in a snow hidden pothole would suck. I'm also running on stock GT wheels, so I'm particularly mindful of my 19" rears. I tend to have to fill up my rears once a week, but I also think I have a slow leak
Better to be safe than sorry, right? I'm not sure what your local gas stations have for air pumps, but the Hess stations around me have an automated pressure reading pump, which makes things trivial.
