Default tire pressure monitoring system

I am going to put some 19" wheels on my Z and i wanted to know if i can buy new air pressure sensors to go on my new wheels so i can still use the monitoring system. does anyone know if you can purchase them from nissan or from somewhere else and if they will fit on aftermarket wheels? Thanks

If the 19" wheels has similar stock stem valve outlet, then you buy the stock TPS and mount them on your new wheels. But make sure you have the monitor system in your model.

If the 19" wheels has different valve stem outlet, then you can use metal clamp to customize the mounting.

The best way is probably to buy an aftermarket tire pressure monitor, from tirerack.com, and mount them in your car.

I believe they are around $250~ (not exactly sure, but check their website. www.tirerack.com)

You should take them out of your stock wheels and mount them with a band as was posted a while ago. I doubt the sensors will mount in the valve hole of your new wheels but you never know until you try. Of course Nissan sells them but they are expensive. I think somebody said $125-150 each but call a dealer and ask.

I couldn't tell from the posts, but remember that if you didn't have factory tire pressure sensors, that you couldn't just go to the dealer and add them.

The controllers and the link to the computer display are all additional pieces that make up the system, and are tied into the CAN system within the car. The schematic is in the FSM if required.

I looked into this for my Enthusiast, and thought it best to warn others in case they're thinking the same thing.

00Z doesn't say which model he has but he does state "so i can still use the monitoring system". So he can only use the Nissan senors if he wants to use his existing system.

Default Cost of tire pressure monitors

I just so happened to be checking on Nissan TPMs this past weekend from the dealer.
P/N 40700-CD001 sensor unit. List price each: $292.85
Folks - you need FOUR of these!

I have an extra set of TSP. If I wanted to sell them, how much should I ask?

I've seen 'em go on Ebay for about $300/set of 4. It's probably close in comparison to the going rate for the track Rays wheels.

I think for $300 I would sit on them. I would rather save them for a rainy day.
