He was talking about his stock track wheels, and while on your idea , 275/35-18 is an easy fit up front and 295/30-18 will also fit on a set of 18x9.5
To the OP, 245/40 is a good front, and for the rear, 265/40 works, but for best handling get a set of sticky 245/45 rears or get wider wheels for wider tires.

Ignore the “trash talk.” I think most of the members who respond here (except terrasmak, who consistently provides very good advice here) are missing your question.
Obviously you know that 245’s will fit your stock front 2003 Track 8” wheels (you have them, or at least know that, they fit the rear).
I think your question is what happens to handling when you go wider on the front. And, that is a good question.
Here is my experience (I have a 2003 Performance Model and run 245’s front and rear):
- When you mount 245’s on the front, you notice a change in handling because you go from under-steer (that you had with the front 225’s) to neutral steer (when running 245’s on the front). With 225’s on the front, you “plow” a little, and that doesn’t happen with the 245’s (they turn –in faster). What you could experience is a “break-loose” on the rear in a hard turn, so be careful and practice this in a controlled environment (on the track is the best place to experiment, and not while “street driving”).
- The best setup for 245’s all around on your 18” wheels is: 245/40-18”F and 245/45-18”R
- If you want to go all-square (same size tires on all four wheels): Go with 245/45-18” on all corners. Your 2003 Track model has VDC, and this setup will work OK with your car
- Do not mount 245/40-18” tires on all wheels (all-square setup) with your 2003 Track model. This setup won’t work correctly with your VDC-equipped car.
The tire manufacturer provides the specifications for wheel fitment. If you have an 8" wheel for example, just check the charts to see what size is recommended (or what range of tire sizes will fit a specific wheel).
Good question, and welcome to the Forums on my350z.com.

Don't listen to these mean guys here on the forum, they just don't like newbies. A 245/18 is going to be too wide up front, I would recommend a 205 which would be perfect with a 60 aspect ratio. Better yet, make it a 65. Dont ever get a V,Z, or W rated tire, they are junk. Be sure to fill the tires to over max capacity (60 psi) for maximum performance in the rain. Good luck and let us know how it goes!
