Did you mean the tires size doesn't fit the car or the look?

On your car , they are a bit tall for it. 265/40 rear and 245/40 front is actually what you should look at. Better yet, 245/40 front and 245/45 rear

Agree. I think "What size tires fit what size wheels" is a subject that we should address.

Sorry I didn't make the title clear to everyone. So 245/40/18 front and 265/40/18 rear is a better size for my car? Thanks for everyone's help.

That is correct , but for best handling i would run a wider wheel for those rear tires or drop to a 245/45 rear.

As the members point out here, 245/40-18F and 265/40-18R is the ideal size for overall diameter (but 265 on the rear may not be the right width for your OEM wheels).

However, 245/45-18F and 265/45-18R is off by about 2.5% overall diameter (about the same front and rear), so that will work with your car (even if it’s VDC-equipped). You have a 2.5% speedometer error, which is about 1 mph for every 50 mph on the speedometer, so that’s insignificant.

You mention stock wheels, so I would add this caution: If you have 8” wheels, the 265’s will be bulged (and probably past the tire company’s recommendation which is 9” wheels for 265’s). I think you should be fine here, but keep this in mind. (That’s why terrasmak recommends 245/45-18R.)

Its cool. I am conservative and recommend OEM width plus or minus 10 mm. Others may push it a bit farther.

Speedometer will read 101.27 at 100.0 MPH. The difference is insignificant.

The increased weight of bigger tires will make you slower. And the tire bulge will look retarded. Stick with OEM sizes.
