Default Help with tire size on a 19x10.5 w/ +10 offset

To make a long story short, spacers were needed to clear my AP Racing brakes and now I'm left with a +10 offset on a 19x10.5 wheel. I'm having my rear fenders re-rolled to be completely flat and planning on running negative camber.

I need to know what is the thickest tire I could run with this setup and the recommended camber specs.

I remember reading somewhere about a guy running +8 on a 19x10.5 and 285/35/19 tires, but I want to reconfirm before purchasing new tires.

Thanks guys,
Jon

Unfortunately, before finding out that the wheels didn't clear my brakes I had already purchased 295/35/19 KDW2's. If there's any way I could keep these rather than losing money reselling it would be great.

I've also considered cutting the OEM fender and molding on Nismo fender flares to give me some extra room. For me, this option would still be cheaper than buying another set of $600 tires & losing money on the ones I have.

Any opinions?

me likes 275 / 35 series, however I think a 285 should fit easy with your
roll.

I like your idea with the nismo flares, however their design might prohibit
the concept. You might have more luck with the VIS 10mm extended
fenders or Do-luck fenders (10 or 15mm?)... in terms of ease of install.
I don't think you'll really need the space unless you go with a BIG tire.

Yeah, I know that size would fit, but I need the most traction possible.

I've been looking for the Do-Luck fenders, but can't find them anywhere! They're probably out of my price range anyway.

I'll look into VIS, but I thought the Nismos gave you about the same amount of room, no?

running a 275/35/19 with less camber will likely give you more traction than a 285/35/19 with more camber if you are talking about in a straight line. Just something to keep in mind.

The VIS rear fender flares are exactly what I'm looking for man, thanks. I still can't find a place that sells them, though. Maybe you or someone else does? Here's a pic for reference:

This is very true, and it's actually making the fender flare idea more appealing to me. With larger fenders I could maybe keep my 295/35 tires and not have to run so much negative camber.

As you know, adding more negative camber and requesting more traction are complete opposites.

I tried our 19x10.5 wheels with a net +18 offset and it stuck out something fierce. I don't know if a huge roll and more neg camber would make it fit, but you have a battle ahead of you for sure. It seems like adding a flare is more $ and time than changing up the set-up, but that's your call. If you do go that route, however, there are stickier tires out there than the KDWs to help you with traction.

Thanks man, I wish Toyo made 295/35/19 or 285/35/19 R888's. I ran these tires on my 18's before. I've researched everywhere for sticky tires with the specs I'm looking for and heard good things about the KDW2's.

What would you recommend in case I end up having to get new tires?

Since you are going to have to repaint anyways, you could just do an aggressive pull on the rear fenders and get an extra 5-10mm of clearance. No need for those tacky looking fender flares. Another option if there is room is to shave a few MM's off of the spacers so the wheels just clear your calipers. A good machine shop should be able to do that easily, and a few mm's makes a huge difference in clearance a lot of the time

Oh really? I didn't think I could pull them out that far. My Eastwood roller just arrived at my office literally five minutes ago, so we'll definitely be giving this a shot. Thanks man!

Unfortunately, 8mm spacers are an absolutely must. I could barely fit a credit card between the spoke and the caliper.

I'd actually never seen those VIS flares, however I believe they're dupes of the nismos...

The flares from nismo attach directly to the fender itself, but wouldn't afford you
more tire room. The part from VIS that I was referring to was actually a full replacement
fender, which I think was a Do-Luck knock off... Try ebay... I've seen some extended
rear fenders show up, no doubt of dubious quality.

Not sure if the old KD tires come in those sizes, but they are a lot better than the KDW tire. I think the general "street Z-er" praises the KDW2 because they've never driven on a better tire. Plus they have that "it looks so cool" warm fuzzy about them. The KD is a way better tire than the KDW2, and I've seen a bunch of them (in 18" sizes) on Ebay.

I believe the Kumho XS comes in 285/35/19. There's always the Pilot Sport PS2 option as well, although I think they're a 30 aspect ratio.

Sidenote: I'll know this weekend if the 285/30/18 R888s will fit on the front of my Z32 without rubbing. If they don't, I'll be talking to you again about the 265s you have FS.
