What are you using for a diff? A good diff (clutch or torsen) will induce a slight to mod push on corner exit. My car sucked on the vlsd, but became easier to dial in with a clutch type diff.

2x^
I wasnt challenging you or meant no disrespect. Willow Springs is a nice track.

im just saying for me, my idea of this car and the reality was a bit off until I had someone teach me. I am no expert by any means. just chimming in on my experiences.

I fixed my issues with the basics, I added more rubber to the ground.

255/295 was the best set up to date:

but with my new found power I think the 305/345 will be the best for the amount of power.

maybe run a spacer on those smaller tires or increase camber or both???

I still feel you should be able to get more out of the car than you are, or either you are not articulating how much your pushing the car before you have issues.

either way, they are fun as hell to play and learn on.

Cheers!

also what types of cars are you use to driving? wheels base, engine size, liters, etc.? Maybe old habits are hard to break? rear vs front engine, 6 vs 4 cylinders... they act toally different. I had and extremely modded 2001 mustang and the g35 stock blew it out the water after all that money. One test drive and I was sold!

I had the instructor in my car, shocked at the amount of tq the little 6 put out. He had me switch gears through one of the shorter auto x tracks because the car tq was driving the wheels going into the turns, and too much coming out. Switching to 3 from 2nd helped big time...

who knows whats really going on, this is a loaded questions with many possible solutions.

Thanks for the additional information and your comments. I bought my 350Z 9 years ago, and I have run many different configurations, including 285’s (but not 315’s). I admit not being impressed with wider tires .

I think one issue I had with very wide tires is running a 350Z stock engine that was unable to run the tires as they were intended. --Spike

ronn1… I think you are fussing way too much about those 9.5” wide front wheels and the effect they have on your tires and ultimately the handling. It’s really not that much a deal that you would experience significantly compromised handling.

And… It’s not your driving since it’s obvious you are more experienced than some of the people attempting to provide help and advice for your problem.

So I’m staying with my guess that you have something “hokey” in your suspension.

When you do get this solved, please post back to this thread with a message that describes the solution.

Thanks for posting. --Spike

I guess you guys do things a little different out West. I've never heard of anyone balancing a car with tire width.

I would start with your roll couple distribution. If you think you have a balanced shock/spring combo then start by going back to the stock rear sway bar.

I'm confused about the "getting on the throttle hard BEFORE the apex while turning hard". I think most cars would break the rear loose in that state.

Can you give any more info on when the rear gets loose. Speed? Radius of the turn?

I embarrassed myself today just trying to take a left at an intersection when my back end slid out about three feet. I think it had alot more to do with throttle input in 2nd gear than tire width. (235F/305R)
