According to Hankook, a 285/35/18 R-S3 will fit a 9.5" wheel just fine.

I would do 10 minimum, it is a wide tire and fits perfectly on my 10.5's.

Thanks terramask, but I already own my wheels. I was asking if a 285 will fit my 9.5" fronts without rubbing...not if I should replace my wheels.

I have run 285 RS3s on the front with a few set-ups. What's the offset of your 9.5?

It's tight and looks good, but you may get a little scuffing here and there but not bad. I had good camber, 3.2ish degrees, in this pic, and the car was really low, but no major issues.

That does look good (and very tight) but you're running a lot more camber than I am. Are your front fenders rolled or cut? Since I currently have my 285's mounted on my rear 10.5" wheels, I might try swapping the wheels up front to see if they rub before mounting them on my 9.5" wheels.

No rolling done. You can test fit with the 10.5s, but you'll have more overall width and tire geometry than the 9.5s.

Thanks, Scott! If they don't fit I'll just buy some used 275/35's from you. You're practically a used Hankook dealer.

A 285 RS3 really works best on a 10.5-11" wheel, but you can easily run it on a 9.5" if so inclined.

I actually like the fit of the 265 on the 9.5. Plus, I don't have 275s but do have 265s to pass on.

I'm understeering with my 265 fronts. My car is extremely front heavy with the Vortech and gutted trunk...otherwise I'd keep my 265s.
