Default Weird sound after adding aftermarket rims

Got the rims today, bought them from another member on here just got finished

putting them on, and then of course for me something goes wrong lol.

Everything is tight nothing is loose, yet when I drive, and get it up to around

30mph and let go of the gas as I am rolling, a sound coming from the FR tire

sounds like a bowling ball going down a lane? Maybe a rotor problem? Or a bad

tire? Never had the noise with the stockers on, rims are 20" Axis Shines.

You probably just aren't used to being on an aluminum 20 inch wheel. I just got a set of DPE 19's and noticed the same thing. Check your tire pressures as well.

Welcome. Wheels are seldom the culprit. Tires are from a 350Z? See the feathering thread.

Put the stock back on first and see if you hear ( make sure if it is aftermarket wheel )
Also it's good to check hub ring/centercap on wheel.

I swapped the rims back to stock and heard no noise then back to aftermarket and noise, the rims are not warped or bent or anything, but they do weigh a ton lol. Im thinking that has something to do with it, it isnt feathering as far as I can tell and no vibrations except for the weird sound.

Sounds like tire roar. Did you buy new tires for these wheels or did the wheels come with tires? If you got them with wheels, is it a staggered setup? If so, for the purpose of the experiment, put the rears in the front and fronts in the rear and drive down the street. See if you're still getting the noise. If it goes away, the front tires are feathered or they're just very noisy. Some brands tend to be that way, especially as they wear on.

I remember my stock potenzas used to roar something fierce and they didn't even have much mileage on them. ~5000K. And that was on stock 17s. It's the tires, not the wheels. If the wheel was making contact with anything, you'd hear worse things than just roar.

Ya man the noise from 20's on those low pro's will be more loud than stockies. But i dont know about "bowling ball" loud. +1 on checking your hub rings.

DID YOU PUT THE RINGS ON when you put your 20's on? Little black plastic rings alittle smaller than a round coaster?

And its not your wheel bearings if you dont hear the noise with your stockies.

I have the same issue with my 19s. The bad thing is the longer I drive it, the louder it gets. The tires were purchased used so I know I need new tires.

A few years back i had a similar problem with some enkeis on my maxima. if they are not tightened manually and were put on with an air gun, that can do this... or the nuts dont tighten down all the way on these wheels or the wheels were not carefully centered when put on the car??
remove them, check the threads on the wheel studs. the ?hubcentric? rings i think they are called, someone pointed out, you may be missing them. the studs will eventually break if you dont take care of this. take your ride to a pro wheel shop or some wheel place you trust.
