Does anybody on here have heavy a$$ wheels?
I am dying for some 19's, but the only ones that I can get right now are some ADR's. They look pretty sick but they are about 34 pounds and I don't want to make my car slower in any way.
If anybody has these rims, or any other rims that are over 30 lbs, can you describe to me how your car felt after putting them on? Is it noticeably slower? I am not going to go to the track or anything like that, but I still don't want it to feel slower when I gun it around town.

The combination of 19 inch and +30 lb wheels WILL be noticeable!
I have driven similar equipped all stock Z and its a downgrade.....
*edit, changing the final drive will help you get the pep back........

i sold my volk gts 2 weeks ago and am borrowing some 19" XXR wheels. OMFG the front 19x8.5 is WAY heavier than my rear 19x10.5 gts!!! the steering is a whole lot heavier and sluggish (even tho its already crappy cuz my power steering sucks).
i say wait!

If they are the ADR's I'm thinking of, I also think they look great. I even thought about getting a set....until I found out how heavy they were.
I ended up with SSR's. -Went from 26lb wheels to 16lb wheels and noticed an improvement.
I can only guess that going heavy will be noticed too.

I went from the 18in stocks to 19in AMEs and I don't feel any difference at all as far as power, not sure how much the new wheels weigh. My gas mileage just went down about 3 mpg though
Unsprung mass is your enemy:

So is increased rotational mass (moment of inertia):

Increasing unsprung mass decreases your tires ability to react to changes in road surface. Increased rotational mass means it will take more effort from your engine to spin your wheels/tires (i.e less power available to move the body of the vehicle). In my opinion these effects shouldn't be underestimated if your goal is performance.
