Default Replacement

I went to the Firestone Firehawks SZ50EP. Fronts 235/45/17 and Rears 275/40/17. These work great, fit perfect, and have no buldge on the sides. I have used these for 5 HPDE events this year and no problems. The size is correct in relation to your TCS.

I replaced my stock Bridgestone with Hoosier R3S03 - 225/40-17 front and 245/40-17 rear.

Yeah, nice RACE tires there! What do you use the other 99% of the time?

I've heard a bunch of good things about the BFGoodrich (Michelin) G-Force T/As. I've got a set of KDWSs on my Cavalier and they stick really well, even in snow...the tread life isn't spectacular, but they're very responsive. A local race shop swears by the KDs for the street (no rain), and they're not too expensive.

When mine wear out, they'll be replaced with S03s or Goodyear Eagle F1-D1...they're both the same money as the RE040s...

I have Michelin Sport A/S on and use them all year round in chicago---same wheels and tire size as OEM from the Tire Rack
Have 20K miles on them ---they handle and are wearing well--no scalloped edges, etc.

I believe after months of research, all you can repolace them with exactly is the OEM Bridgestones or Michelin Pilot Sports. I put on Kumho's 245/45/17 and 255/45/17. Very limited on tire selection for exact sizes as stock.

They are the same size, much improved over stock from what I remember.

Toyo proxies rock, good handling, great wear. Ask tire guys that sell them all, they are highly respected and not too expensive.
