I've decided to invest in a new set of rims and thought I'd get the communities opinion before I blow any money.
I've gone through a lot of this forum and places like tirerack looking, and have come across a few that I like (almost all were over my budget
).
I finally found a set that I like on discount tire
http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/fin...7923&rc=INWINT
I was wondering, are these wheels really too cheap? I mean I'd like to save the money, but if they're just gonna look like **** and fall apart once I get them I wouldn't mind spending the extra dollar.
Let me know what you guys think, or if you find another set of rims that you think I should look at that would be great.
Thanks
Mike

try going to the photagraphy section and lookup your color 350z. A lot of the folks there have different wheels and you might get a sense of what you like. With regards to quality, you kinda get what you pay for...the question is are you in it for looks, performance, racing, etc...budget will always decide what you get. A corporation the size of DP would not sell a product that disintigrates for liability reasons. It is probably a cast steel wheel that weighs 5-10lbs more than a forged wheel but would meet most peoples needs.
Enjoy whatever you buy...odds are like most of us here...you will get bored down the road and change them in a year.

You can see in that box at the top.
So these wheels would not work. And do you have any other recommendations?

they will show you any wheel that fits your bolt pattern. your stock wheels are 8" wide in the front and 8.5" in the rear. don't go smaller then that.
I suggest checking out wheeldude.com if you are on a budget.

Do not buy those.
For one, they are only 7.5" wide, that's Honda Civic sizing. You want at a very minimum 8.5" in the front and probably in the 9.5" ballpark in the rear. Most prefer 9.5" in the front and 10.5 in the rear (or larger).
For two, while the site doesn't show this, the offset is probably all wrong, I bet they are probably +40 or +45 offset. In that width it would have to be around 0 offset.
It's probably a better idea to just keep saving, you wont be able to find a proper fitting wheel AND tire setup for less than maybe 1500-1600, and that's for lower end wheels and tires. Spending less than that will result in a Z that looks worse and performs worse than stock. That's a bad combination to be blowing money on.

Look into Rota's from Wheeldude.com, he's on this forum as wheel in the marketplace under wheels and tires. He knows the 350 well so he will advise you on any ?'s that you may have.

Going with Rota's is your best bet. Wheeldude will be able to steer you in the right direction.
rules of thumb:
1) front wheel no narrower than 8.5 inches
2) rear wheel no narrower than 9.5 inches
3) offsets < +25
follow those and the wheels will at least fit decent.
Most common setup is around 9.0-9.5 wide front, 10.0-10.5 wide rear, offsets between +15 and +20.
Style is only half the battle. The hottest volk in the world will look like **** if the fitment is awful.
