I was afraid of this!!! What this means is that with the NISMO (or others) suspension setup, their struts & coilovers are thicker than stock! This means that you must go with a lower offset wheel: +25, +30! Which means the wheel will come out further from the wheel well. Unfortunately I can't think of any wheel on EARTH that has that low of an offset! And guess what? That means you'll ABSOLUTELY have to run spacers! They're not that bad though. I just personally don't like to fool with them. Well this indeed poses some interesting challenges for even me. I know for a fact that my aftermarket wheels have +35 offset front and rear, so guess what I probably won't lower my car. But on a positive note, my wheels are 19's so I may come out just right.

So what you're saying is YES.

We can get 275/40/18 9.5 with the +30 offset on the rear for those of us not fooling around with the suspension. Are you sure that spacers are necessary? It's really confusing cause they make it seems as if the +30 is with their suspension only. What my wheel guy told me was the distance from +30 to +33 was like stacking 3 CD together. It's not that much difference but we want to get it right the first time. I'm really concerned about clearing the brakes and suspension. I know the Z will be able to take the wider tire but this wheel crap is too complicated. I need that little guy from "The fast and Furious".

TXSTYLE after reading you reply again...I think I finally get it. If you're staying with factory suspension you can go with the +38 offset. If you use Nismo Suspension or any other you have to go with the +30. Why do they say 8.5? Is it because this is the width that comes standard?

Correct! And yes, it appears that the "factory" rim width must be 8.5 which is actually pretty decent.

Ok for all looking to put some fat rubber on the back and front you now have the numbers needed. Time to place those orders.

Recap:

***With factory standard suspension set-up***
245/40/18 8.5 +30 Offset FRONT
275/40/18 9.5 +38 Offset REAR

If going with Nismo suspension follow the guide.

TXSTYLE: I am going with 19's also. What size tires are you going with? I dont want the tires to stick out at all or maybe just a little. I am planning on going with 8.5's all the way around. Any suggestions on tire size?

Sounds like a winner! I'd say the perfect setup for you is either: 245/40/19 or 255/40/19 And you have SEVERAL brands to choose from!

OK, now let me see if I have this correct: since the NisMo suspension is wider than the stock suspension, it requires a lower offset, meaning I have to run slimmer wheels? And does anyone think I can fit an 18x10 out back?

Cool Stock Wheels

TXSTYLE --

I am getting the Touring model with manual trans. I seem to recall that the front wheels will be changed to 18 x8's. If so, and if I put on 245/45 tires up front, (same as on the rear), will I end up with poorer handling than if I left the 225/45's up front?

Yeah. What he said!

Default I disagree

You car will handle better without the staggered setup. Wider tires in the front will help dial-out understeer.

Greetings Ari1856, and welcome! Everyone is entitled to an opinion here, BUT! All I will say to your opinion is "It is no coincidence that most if not all Great Sports Cars come with a -staggered- setup!" Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche, Aston Martin, shall I continue? Believe me, it's for a reason.
