Am I the only one who doesn't get a hardon for Volk's?
Yes, Volks are great wheels....there is no doubt about that.
But that doesnt mean if you dont get them your Z will get no respect. (without trying to sound too much like f&f, lol)
I get compliments all day by import enthusiests who know their stuff and regular folks who dont alike. My Axis where like $2200 with tires. Not expensive by any means, but also weigh around 26lbs a peice in 19"s.
Its not so much about brand unless your dealing with others that think that way, its about how the wheels look on yer Z!
Correct sizes and offsets are the key, and most tend to stick to a simple 5-6-7 spoke design, which of course looks classic on any sports car.

See, imho, his ^ Z is one of the only, if only, Z's that i like with a mesh wheel type and in 20's.
Pulled it off nicely, regardless of what brand he has. (Although its a good brand)
....But everybody and their hamster manufactures a mesh wheel type and they all look similar.
I always say, and I really mean it, that if you aren't going to put a good quality rim on your car, just stay stock until you can afford to. 90% of aftermarket rims look like garbage and are 'one size fits all' ******** non-platform specific fitments. it's literally disgusting to see a Z molested like that.
OP's car is a good example. those Konig (I am just guessing) rims are absolute **** and make the car look awful, making all of us look bad vicariously through you.
that makes me hate you. I hate you.

te37s are the only ones i like really enough to ever own. i would NEVER under any circumstances buy them at full prices, even if i was worth a million plus. it just blows my mind the better things that can be done with money than their wheels. i would get the rota grids (the te37 knock offs) but theirs sizes are limited
sick.. just had an orgasm. lmao. that is a sick set up..

Whats wrong with those? Just like geauxlady z stated, it will be the size and offset that makes or breaks a Z. The brand will be just a choice as long as the offsets and sizes are correct.
Can't you say this with any big name Z product? The appeal is that what you get for your car, you do it because that is what you want. You don't ask what is the appeal just because you don't understand or like it....whatever. You can call out Nismo Version front ends, HKS exhausts, (insert favorite) high flow cats just as easy as wheels.
I think the key word you used was "hardon"...that sets off the negative vibe right away.

Motormouth made a good point. Your better off with stock wheels than to sacrifice or go "cheap" on wheels. A nice set of wheels really makes the car IMO. I kept my stock wheels until I found a good deal on some Volks with tires. Not to say that I only like Volk, I also like the SSR line up and Works.
For the guy that mentioned buying some Axis wheels for 2200, I paid less than that for some SF Challenges with Tires. There are deals out there, just have to look and be patient. I have since then moved on to another Volk design.

There's crap, there's Volks and then there's Dymags. Volks are a happy medium, performance wise. Looks wise, they are among the best designs out there. But if you are a performance freak and have the money to spend then Dymag is the wheel for you. Volks are great wheels, but they are not the best of the best as some would think. They are however very nice looking, most designs are anyway, and very well priced. If a decrease of rotational mass and unsprung weight is your reason for buying a set of wheels then Dymag is the best at that. If looks and a close to stock wheel weight is your goal then Volks are definately at the top of that list and if you just go for looks and you really don't care about performance then you might end up with crap on all four corners.
