Default Help, lost lugnut key

I lost my key for my oem lugnuts, how should i go about taking them off??

I went to the nissan dealership near me and they didnt have the key for it. I dont have my owners manual so i cant even get the serial code for it. Shouldnt a dealership have a master set or something? they said there was nothing they could do.

they gave me one that was kind of close to it and ive been trying to dremel it into the right shape but its not working too well. I dont want to do some crazy method because i dont want to damage my volks. Any suggestions?

if you lost the key to your OEM lugnuts, thats not a big deal at all. i think its just a 19 or 21mm socket.

i believe what you meant to say is that you lost the key to the accessory wheel lock lugs that came with your car. if you're screwed man. grind some flat spots off on the locking lug and hope you can get a good grip with an adjustable wrench or vice grips or something.

I had this happen to me once on another car. I tried every tire and wheel shop in the city (and several outlying towns) and was not able to find one to match. I finally had a shop cut off the nuts and I replaced them. FWIW, it wasn't I that lost the key.

The OEM locks can easily be removed by hammering a 3/4" socket onto the lock then removing (impact wrench recommended) the lock.

^Best option for you right there. Pound the socket on with a hammer and impact it off. Buy a cheap 3/4" socket so if you can't get it off the socket once removed just throw it away.

Problem solved, thanks to Fontana Nissan.

I went down there but they didnt have the right key. The parts guy sent me to a tire shop down the street where they took them off for free with a threaded socket. Thanks for the suggestions though guys!

^^^Now you're being sarcastic. Not good for credibility. Post pics of your wheels with you're screen name on it in a new thread.

If you purchased a set of McGard theft proof lug nuts, then you also got the key code printed on the package. Simply call up McGard's toll-free # and give them the code and a CC. They'll send you out the right key for the locking nuts. Problem solved.
