hey guys, just wondering the best/easiest way to clean wheels with the matte/flat finish? I have a set of chrome silver TE37 and the finish is flat, it looks great but its so hard to clean. The dirt just stays on there and the more i wipe, the dirt just smears??? I find that waxing them removes the smears somehow but i dont want to wax it everytime i clean it. I tried detailer spray but that doesnt work. Any advice? Soap and water just doesnt cut it.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Crom dont you have a matte finsih TE? Does your finish feel "rough" vs other wheels? I know my friends LE and my old LMGT4 felt real smooth and glossy but mine and another friends matte finish TE feels rough (almost like theres no clearcoat). Thing with his is his is a gunmetal type color, mine looks almost white so all the dirt shows.

also whats the best way to protect these? Would applying wheel wax prevent dirt from getting stuck on the wheels? They just seem to get dirty easy and they dont clean well.
I tried regular car wax and they dont do anything but leave streaks.

idk because everyone on here seems to be fu*king up their volks easily and i dont want to mess mine up. I wasn't trying to brag or anything if thats what your tying to say especially since 70% of members here have volks lol.
btw will using dish soap be too strong?

Wheels get dirty. Brake dust and tar can be difficult to remove. Wax is to make things shine, and often makes a mess on flat paint. We know what NOT to use. Acid based cleaners such as engine cleaner, (some) wheel cleaners and 409.
I am cautious about suggestions because I do not what to be responsible for your wheels.

i understand wheels get dirty but ive had aftermarket wheels before (nismo lmgt4, Volk SF challenge, etc.) and the dirt on them just comes off after a quick rinse and wipe. With these wheels the dirt leaves streak marks and stains.
Whatever you do, don't use dish washing liquid.....it is too strong and harsh on any wheel. I had matte wheels before, but I basically used what I use now -> Meguiars -> car wash -> quick detail spray = done. Dirt usually just stays on the surface and when I use microfiber towel is slides right off.

lol true but im guessing yours have the regular clear coat on em?
Imagine a piece of cardboard box, get some mud on those then try wiping them off. Its like that with my wheels, they just smear and leave stains :/

I have TI Gunmetal TE's and I just use Meguiars car wash soap in the big purple bottle. Works every time.

I haven't used it yet but I will be once I get a bit of time to finish my suspension installation for this winter.

It seems to have great reviews and can be diluted for your needs.
I also use wheel wax/sealant on my LE37s. I am not sure on the matte wheels but it worked fine for me when I had Work CR Kais a few years back.
