Default How to make chrome wheels look new?

Hey,

I'm from NJ and we got like 4 feet of snow this year, but unfortunately i've been away in SC for school for the last year, i'm coming home Thursday and i KNOW that my wheels are going to be eaten up by the snow/salt.

I read somewhere to use Noxon7 I've used that before and it gets them shiny again, but there is still crud.

Any other suggestions?

You might consider taking them to a shop and having them re-chromed.

Are they dull looking or pitted?

If it's just dull looking then you should try a chrome polish such as Eagle One NevR Dull or Mother's Chrome Polish (after washing first).

I was going to say put them in the trash, but if they aren't pitted this is good advice as well.

If they are pitted they would have to be re-chromed, which probably wouldn't be worth it.

I've decided the rims are beef curtains lol.. I originally bought the car off a guy that wanted them for "show" but they are annoying to maintain, so i'm going to lean toward performance rims/tires.. any suggestions?

99.989785999% on the boards will say Volks.

IMO, if you want something geared more toward performance, choose something that is lightweight relative to your budget. If you can afford Volks, get them. If not, there are many other options that are lightweight, i.e. Enkei RPF1's, and affordable.

I recommend doing some research to see what wheels strike a balance of looks, weight, quality, and affordability, and go from there. There are too many options to list, and everyone has different tastes.
