I am about to be putting some very aggressive wheels on my car. I'm not spoiling the fun by giving specs or pics yet. But I need help with tire sizing. My goal is to get as much meat on these wheels as I can. The wheels are 18" -- 10.5" front and 12" rear. I just need to know what tire sizes will work together without setting off VDC. I was thinking about going with 265/35/18 and 295/35/18. I used that miata site in the sticky. Comparing the tires to the stock 18's (225/45 and 245/45) the percentage seemed to be ok. but when I compared the 265/35 to the 295/35 the percentage was 3.14. What a bunch of crap. What tire size can I run? I dont want to run a super massize stretch either.
Now, 275/35 and 295/35 comes to 2.11% which is good....
...has anyone run 275's on the front?

One thing I hate with 275mm tires up front is the bump-steer when doing street driving with this setup.
Of course it's great on the track (with an ideal surface), but awful on the street where the front wide tire graps any irregularity and "decides" that's the direction it will go.

Will you be able to get those tires at the junkyard?

the 265/295 stagger would be fine as well. The VDC wants you to stay somewhere around 3% difference. You can however get away with as little as 0% (same size tire all around) or as much as 6% taller in the rear. so you'll be fine with 265/295 or 275/295
