You obviously know nothing about our "fad," so if all you're going to add to the thread is useless waste of bandwidth like the one I quoted above please just go away.

I make one comment and I'm a nuthugger?

A 245 doesn't fit, looks horrible, is unsafe, and isn't functional. Your "fad" is the dumbest thing I've ever seen. A little bit of a strecth isn't bad, but a 245 on a 10.5 inch wheel is just retarded.

Aren't you running 265's on a 10 inch wheel? I guess you are the real expert .

A 245 does fit on a 10.5" rim. It looks bad in you opinion, it looks awesome when properly executed in mine. Unsafe, sure, it does increase the chances of blowing out a sidewall on potholes etc. Stretched tires are just as functional for drifters as fat tires are to you guys who are putting down mad hp numbers on the track.

Like I said, I have a 255 on a 10.5" and I think it looks perfect. What I think looks stupid is guys running week offsets with huge fender gap, huge tires and no performance mods to speak of.

and I'm sorry I called you a nut hugger, I got a little excited.

I'm actually running a 19"x10.5" Volk GT-S square set up with 255/35/19 tires.

I have 265's on my Work's 10" but I'm currently selling those.

Depends a lot on the tire. Goodyear F1's are so stiff on the sidewall with my 275/35/19's they really fit a narrow range of wheel widths well. And even with 10" rears they are a PITA to mount. Not run-flats, either.

Point is type of tire plus size maybe you can justify that statement. Otherwise IMHO dissing another shop's work w/o even knowing the tire is kind of harsh.

Most tires should fit out 2" (8.5 vs. 10.5) but man is that 35 going to be very low effective profile when done, I hope it's for TT or time attack and not street use. Not much left to protect the rim...

Stretch vs. Meaty tire debate= fail

This will never be solved. People like stretched tires, people like meaty tires. Its all in the eye of the beholder. Im no expert on tires so I dont have any input on safety issues, but if people want to stretch so be it.

I personally dont mind a slight stretch, however I like a more "proper" fit tire. Not too stretched, not too fat

99.9% of people who stretch tires dont drift. you cant seriously own a sports coupe and expect to get any sort of reasonable performance from your car with this sort of setup. you dont have to stretch your tires to get a nice aggressive look. here's the a great example.

this is what our cars were meant to look like. none this crab walking, no grip getting, rubber band tires bs. Final Forces stance is flush, aggressive, tucked and still puts down 275's in the rear. he actually wants 285's now. his stance has sports coupe written all over it. your "fad" has girls playing barbie dress up written all over it.

Damn

if its not your car dont worry about it! OP asked a question and the answer is YES a 245/35 can work no problem if done by the right shop. You like "proper sized tires" then go ahead and drool over them, we like "stretched tires" and we'll stick with em. If you like oversized tires then go right ahead lol. simple concept, we dont need people lecturing us on what to do...unless your paying for our cars

well put toby

if it makes you guys happy..

im going with a 235/40 on my 11 inch and -17 offset
and a 215/40 on my 10 inch and 0 offset ...

hate on. everyone uses there car for diff things so no use lecturing people on what to do with it... and no one cares about who drifts and who doesnt on stretched tires.

good, then tell your fellow tire stretchers not to use that as a reason to justify this this sort of thing because they use this "card" every time.

lol idk why you would want to put such a small tire on a 10.5....

why dont you just put the RECOMMENDED tire size on it and call it a day

theres only 2 or 3 members that claim to drift their Zs with stretched tires and they actually do. I personally did it bcs it looks good imo. But i also like other styles like flush Zs with "proper size" tires.
