Default 18x9.5 wheel. What size tire for front?

This is a stupid question, but I'll ask it anyways I want to get some 18x9.5 wheels for the front of my Z, will a 245/40/18 tire be sufficient for that wheel size. This is my first foray into aftermarket wheels so be gentle... thanks

The 370Z come with front 9.0 inch wheel-245 mm tire rear 10.0 inch wheel-275 mm tire. So go between 245-275mm tire.

Actually I had the same question, pretty much, but I'm just looking for more info. I've done a little google searching, and I think I've figured out what I'm looking for, but some confirmation would be great.

I'm wondering if tire width matters for the rim. I can understand that too wide of a tire might rub on the fender, but for the actual rim itself, would any width fit? I was on a site looking at 19x9.5 rims and it gave me tire options ranging from 215 to 315. That seems like a HUGE range for the same size rim.

It seems that an ideal size would be something like 245 Front/295 Rear. Is that about right?

Im doing 18x9.5 all around with 245/40's. Very slight stretch with Hankooks.

Most guys with 18x9.5"F and 18x10.5"R go with a 245/40 or 255/40 front tire and 275/40 or 285 rear tire. Again, thats most, some run a little bigger tire and some run small tires for a more "stretched" look. Do a little searching in the media section and wheels/tires section. There are plenty of threads that talk about wheel/tire setups with sizes.
