on my 18' motegis some of the chrome is starting to chip off the lip.
any suggestions?

If you cant pay to fix them use clear nail polish over the chip to help keep it from chipping more,

i only have the factory 17 powdercoated black, but dont listen to the guys bout the chrome. I mean its not for me, but my boy has a set of ssr minervas on his z and they are insanely dope looking to it depends on you, hope nail polish works

I couldn't disagree more. Stock wheels for winter wheels maybe. But stock wheels are just....ummmm? Stock? It's boring to leave a car stock.

 

Use them as drift/track wheels and buy some nice wheels.

check my thread, I have motegi touges and the person I got them from did not take care of them. So I sanded them down and painted the center. The lips were chiping as well so I started with some 220 grit sand paper, dish wash soap and water. I worked my way up to 1000 grit and finished it off with mothers chrome polish and they look amazing. I will pm you and send you some recent pics if you want.

 

Sell them and buy some OEM Rays or TE-37's

 

My wife has motegis on her car and the chip very easily, if its just the clear on the lip sand off all of the clear so its down to bare aluminum and repolish it it will shine like new but require the odd repolish to keep them shiney.
