Rota makes a quality wheel and it's almost double the price of XXR, i could easy see how someone could make a knockoff Rota to XXR standards and still profit.

Got it. I just don't understand how my neighbor has chromium black 527's for the past 3 years (20k miles) on an SRT-4 that he drag races and they don't have a chip on them.

with cheap wheels quality can very especially with paint, not every batch is identical. maybe he got a batch with a thicker clear coat or even thicker paint, we probably got a batch just the opposite.

i believe xxr makes a good wheel, at least i have not had any issues (other than paint) but at the price you gotta take the good with the bad.

Yeah this seems most plausible. I weighed the wheel and it's in line with what is listed online as the weight. Like you said, at the end of the day you get what you pay for. If it's just paint issues, I'm not too worried as a wheel can always be repainted or powdercoated. Thanks for the help!

Thumbs up

I was looking around on many sites to buy new wheels and I came across these xxr 968. I really like them and the price for the set of 4 is awesome. I was looking to buy Varrstoens Es2 but the XXR's changed my mind.

I would love to buy some real wheels but I'm not looking to spend 3-4K on a set of wheels. I believe $756 is good enough.

I recently sold my 2004 350z with 120xxx miles for $10200 to buy a family members garaged 2004 350z with only 60xxx. My uncle bought the 350z new from the dealer with upgraded Nismo parts. Im purchasing the car for $10,000 so I'm pretty happy and have some cash left over to buy some wheels.

Let me know what you guys think.

Heres the link to the XXR wheels.

I heard that they are going to release them May 22. So I'm probably going to preorder them tomorrow. I wish I could get 19's for this rim, but 18's are good enough

would it be better to run 18x8.75 on front with 18x9.75 in rear or 18x9.75 all the way around with spacer in rear?

18x9.75 +20 fit perfect in the front, flush with the body line. if that's the look you are going for.

I really like your setup with the spacers in the rears and the 18x9.75 all the way around. any real problems with that setup? I’m on stock suspension

no issues, i didn't rub with the spacers but i rolled my rear fenders anyway.its pretty close but not at stock height, i put tien tie rods and the inside of my wheel rubs at full angle on the radius arm. not something most have to worry about, just mentioning.

Default XXR 526 Crhomium or Gloss black. New rim doenst match.

I had to order a replacement rim. My rims are clearly not gloss black so I ordered a Chromium black replacement rim. The new is much lighter than my other 3 that now look black in comparison. Anyone that own a set of gloss black can tell me if it is truly pure gloss back. With no metallic in it. Ill send some pic later to compare.

I need some help. To start out, I'm not dropped but I might do an inch in the future.

I'm ordering 530s. Im thinking of getting 8.75f and 9.75 rear +20 with 245/40 and 275/40. I'm pretty settled on the rear sizing but I'm unsure on the fronts.

I was going to go 9.75 255/40 on the front but I don't know if it will rub with the 9.75 rim. I also didn't know about the 255 on the 8.75 because I like the look of a more fitted tire on the front, like it fits stock. That's why I'm thinking 245 on an 8.75.

I know this has been discussed a bit, but I think I've confused myself.

I just want it to look stock with the upgraded wheels. I like how the stock front looks a little tighter and smaller. While I enjoy performance, looks is my primary goal here.

Could you guys give me some advice?

If you like the "stock" look ie tucked in with the fender lip out more than the wheel lip, then 8.75 all around is good. Why do you like the stock look? Not willing to roll the fenders and buy wider wheels?
