Be sure to swap out those summer tires for good all-weather shoes for those peeps on the East Coast!
Rain, Hail, Snow... all that good stuff that will try to make your car dance on the freeway!
Let the lessons be learned from Last year and first time Z owners in the rain....
BECAREFUL!!!
^_^
if you're in California, i would like to invite you to a beach party this coming up weekend.... (j/k)

The stock REO-40's are pretty good in the rain. Just don't do anything stupid.
Forget about the snow though.

I agree, I am pleasantly suprised by how good the stock tires are in the rain. I expected worse.
I like it here in AZ. Christmas day last year it was about 65 degrees and sunny. Looked out my front door, looked up a bit, and there was my white christmas...the mountain caps were covered. quick hour drive away and I could go snowboarding. Too bad last christmas all I had was my motorcycle so I wasnt going anywhere.

Tire tread design isn't the only factor. Don't forget to watch out for the temperature outside!
The rubber compounds in high performance summer tires are not designed for low temperatures. So when it gets cold outside the rubber in a summer tire starts to harden quite a bit and loses a lot of its traction. Winter tires have a different rubber compound that stays soft well into the low temperatures so they maintain their traction.
So even if it's completely dry outside, those summer tires still won't be much good if the temp is below freezing!
