Noob question---answer plz---been searching for 4 weeks
Ok, I'm a NOOB, and yes I know how to do a search, but I'm hoping I can get just a quick answer without being bashed to death. I'm trying to order a set of Volk GTS' and I have been searching threads on here for a month now. I have an 06 Daytona Blue Z, year shouldn't matter, just saying for reference. I want to know what size wheels, both front and rear with which offset and tire combination, will yield the most aggressive look on a stock suspension. I do not want to roll or cut my fenders, at all. I do not want my VDC to be interrupted, at all. The only mods I have are a NISMO CAI, and NISMO S-tune Exhaust with a Motordyne XYZ Y-pipe. I plan to do no further mods, as this is not my daily driver, just a weekend toy. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
This car was a step up for me, I have been a poster on preludeonline for over 10 years, and many people on there know me. I respected everyone, please respect me at my new home.
Thank You,
Cody

To be honest none of them will look great on stock suspension. Youll see what I mean when you bolt yours up.
The most common offsets are the +17/+18 9.5/10.5 setup. They clear bbk. there was a new offset out with a different pad to give more lip but does not clear bbk as well.
You should be able to run a 275 t0 285 rear tire and 245-265 font without worrying about fender clearance. Front fenders cannot be rolled, only rears.

Where in LA are you located?
As mentioned above, the "standard" setup that most people go with are the 9½/10½ +22. Offsets in the teens are good but not always available. I'm running the standard setup with 255/35/19 and 285/35/29 tires, no VDC problems, and slight rubbing in the rear. Keep in mind that tires vary so some require rolling, others do not. Rolling the rear is no big deal though, fronts are already rolled.
"Aggressive" is a relative term, so go with what you're comfortable with.

Mine are 19x9.5/10.5...+21f, +24r. Before i lowered it i had rubbing in the rear on a big bump. My rears are 285's and just barely rubbed the outside sidewall. No more tho since i lowered and rolled the fenders.

I never said that. I've seen a dozen or so suitable set-ups. But choosing one over another, has been my dilemma. I don't know one from the other, so it's a bit difficult to choose.
OK, I am with the noob....
Just returned from my Final and last deployment, I have a poop load of hazard pay I will be laying out on my 2005 Roadster, I am looking to bump up to 18" ( mainly Illinois is Pothole city ) so that limits me to 18" ,,Are you guys saying, if you just throw on a set of wheels and spacers, that it would look like crap?, unless its lowered or suspension work?
Please fill me in , as I have been out of the loop hole and and eyeballing my wheel set??
ANd also is there an offset anyone here suggest??
Thanks to all, and safe summer to all

So you'll want to spend some of that money on lowering springs. If you want subtle easy drops, go with Tein H-tech springs, Swift Springs, Cobb Tuning Springs, Hotchkis Springs or RSR springs. All subtle drops with great spring rates. Depending on your car's mileage, you may also want to look into upgraded shocks, so then that becomes a decision on whether or not to get a set of intro-level coilovers or a strut/spring combo.
As far as sizes go, you have to decide what kind of look you want and what you're willing to sacrifice or not to get it. If you want super poke and stretched, be prepared to do some fender/paint work plus suspension arms. If you want flush, you have to find the right wheel sizes and offset combinations and tires that work within those constraints as well.
Your best bet is to check out some of the wheel picture threads and go from there. The 18" Enkei thread is nice and I think there is an 18" wheel appreciation thread as well.
Ball park sizes to look for:
Front: 18x8.5 through 18x9.5 with offsets from 0 through 22; tires should be 245-275
Rear: 18x9.5 through 18x10.5 with offsets from 10 through 25; tires should be 275-295
Not sure what your opinion is on Rota Wheels, but as far as sizing of wheels and tire packages go, they have some very easy to deal with combinations in a lot of design/color flavors. You could easily get a good looking wheel/tire package for your roadster for around $1800 that will look sweet on a dropped roadster.

I D Drive, Thanks for a great re post, My car only has 18K on it as up until now I only drove when I was at home, and perfect days,
I am looking to just space out to almost the edge, I do not want to screw with any rolling etc, I am the type who like to just bolt on and go, but now with suspension changes etc, not sure if I want to go there...
I will check out the piks, But Thanks again for all the Info and have a safe summer!!!
