None. Get a spacer/adapter with correct threads added.

so even a 5mm spacer will not work safely and leave enough thread on the stud for the lug nut to fasten properly

The stock lug nuts are 25 mm long. Basically, you might be able to get away using 5 mm spacers. Anything thicker and I think you are asking for trouble. Just get the spacers with the built in lugs and you should have no problem.

Agree.

None. I do not want the wheels to fall off the car. Not cool.

Only if your running 25mm spacers, all others get the spacers that come with the proper studs (ie Ichiba V1)

Take the wheel off and make sure the Project Kics lugs are tightened to their torque specs.

I've got Project Kics 15mm's. When I put them on I torqued them to their specs. After about 100 miles I pulled the wheels off and checked/re-torqued them. I've had them on for probably 5000 miles and they don't make a sound.
