yea people in here are smart enough to understand what you just said, but what most people probably don't get is why doesn't he refund people money when they have asked him to do so like some of the guys here ?

he took people's money and didn't deliver, and though it's obvious he's not trying to rip anyone off or steal anybody's hard earned dollars, there's a lack of common sense on his part..
i mean seriously why not just basically take the hit, refund peoples money immediately when they ask and take these right steps towards rectifying this situation.
yea he might be out a few grand or more for a short while but eventually the wheels will arrive and he will sell them, maybe not to the original buyers, but to someone right ?

i mean doesn't this guy stock wheels like fckin hotcakes, couple of refunds should be small potatoes to him..

It's apparent that the problem is NOT a manufacturing issue. I assume the info you "aren't at liberty to disclose" came from Rick That would explain why other vendors are able to get their customers product within the quoted time frame..

It's a money issue on Rick's end.. simple as that. Months ago when this thread came up the signs were all there and now it's more apparent than before. It also explains why these guys aren't getting their refunds on time. If the business was healthy and had proper cash flow these few refunds wouldn't be a problem. This also explains why there were extended order delays as I bet he wasn't even ordering wheels for his customers.. He was likely taking money from a new order to help pay for an existing one.. This type of situation eventually snowballs and you find yourself here... with lots of pissed off customers and no product to show

Let's list off the issues (and I'm probably missing some as I don't want to go back through the thread)

1. Order delays
2. Lack of communication
3. Lack of employees to give updates
4. Shop randomly closed during the week
5. VIP Status banned from my350z (likely not paying vendor renewal)
6. Phone lines down at shop (likely not paying phone bills, come on how often do phone lines just go down out of the blue )
7. No refunds for customers

Looks pretty clear to me but I'll let you guys be the judge

[sarcasm] I'm sure you know it all when it comes to manufacturing and the issues associated with it when creating an original wheel design[/sarcasm]

Okay Everyone good news!

Rick from Status has sent me partial refund and is making his promise that he said he will do. He has personally took the money out of his own pocket and said more will be coming. I am very glad that Rick is doing the right thing.

I will update on some more info later.

Rick is #1 on my book!

Business is business.. I am a business major and have a lot of experience in this field. I've also examined a variety of business's and know the signs of an unhealthy business.. VIP Status fits the mold to a tee!

Cute jab at "original wheel design" as if that has anything to do with this situation.. Just because I only sold one type of wheel doesn't mean I didn't learn about the majority of brands in this industry. Over the years I've worked with other brands and visited a lot of their facilities. I'm sure you know though.. creating a wheel has nothing to do with keeping promises to your customers and properly running a business on YOUR end.

stogey420time here is my update... sorry, I've been moving into my new home in Hawaii and had some issues with work (not the wheel company ^_^)

Left countless PMs on the370 asking where are my wheels and had no reply to any of them. Called the shop asking about the wheels and for some reason, was never able to reach him. David picked up the phone like 3/10 phone calls and was courteous on the line but always notified me that Rick wasn't around. However, I've left messages and my number with no call backs =(

My last update on when I was suppose to get the wheels was 2 weeks ago... delivered to GTM to slap on to my 370 before it got shipped out here, in Hawaii. I"ve stretched my shipping date a few months in order for the wheels to arrive and for my car to finish at GTM. Sadly, nothing...

I heard sets of Venaci's came in but since I couldn't get a hold of Rick, I couldn't confirm if it was mine. And another thing that bothered me was another forum member received his wheels from Rick and he ordered well after me. Even when I was offered to change my wheels to their new lineup. Somehow he got his and I'm still holding my hands up in the air...

Cheston, if you can see what's up with my order I'd really appreciate it when you see him. I still believe he's a great guy but I am now at the 7 month mark. I just want clarification on "where are they at now?" and "why aren't they here?" when it was "100% here on that date".

That's awesome
Thank you Rick!

If everything goes according to plan... 3 names could be knocked off that list

I'm also a part of 350zmotoring. When that site crash (for weeks) a while back... my "motoring" Z friends seek refuge here. 3hree5ive0ero was kind enough to create our own little sub section for us to dicuss cruises, meets and track day events etc. He needed a moderator to clean up all the uneccessary post/threads so I volunteered

I'm not a mod with ban power or premier membership... just a cool title

I'm doing these updates for everyone including my friends (blackheart and wayneside) is to stay in topic. I'd hate to see myself or anyone going through this wait. I can't imagine the stress, sleepless nights and the arguments with your family/gf/wife b/c of a big purchase you made a while back and with nothing to show for.

Cheston - if you could help out that'll be great!

So far, Rick refunded me 75% of what was agreed. He paypaled me as promised. I am expecting, the remainder amount today. Rick is hard to get a hold of, but still a man of his words. So far, Rick has been taking care of the situation.

Its weird.. Rick told me that my wheels arrived in his warehouse last Friday.. Got a close up picture of the wheels which i requested quite a number of times... When asked when the wheels would be shipped, Rick gave the silent respond!! Hmmpph no PMs replied for 2 days now... Last i remember he said he was busy trying to find a new larger warehouse, but cant he prioritize customers stuff especially those who waited for nearly a year??????? Can anybody ask him whats making the delay? I just want to get over with it now!!

Was the wheels in pieces? It takes a couple days for them to assemble and seal each wheel. It took them 2-4 days to assemble my meisters.

this thread is really sad to read through. I personally would NEVER wait this long to get wheels or refund for that matter.

Good luck to all of you and don't forget to leave i-trade feeback for Rick once your transaction has been completed
