Default 8.5" front 11" rear?

Anything wrong with running a 19x8.5 et 35 wheel up front (255/35/19) and a 19x11 et 20 wheel in the back?? (285??/30/19)?

Set of wheels i've been looking at that has been discontinued and I found a set still leftover but they are these sizes. Obviously would get a spacer for the fronts.

From more research it seems like a 255/35/19 paired with a 285-295/30/19 should fit... I hope lol

I'm just trying to go for a clean stance... not a big fan of the hellaflush stretch thing so it seems like a 285/295 on a 11" wheel looks pretty normal.

I'm also on stock suspension so I guess I can worry about rolling fenders / pulling or whatever when I get coilovers.

I just wasn't sure about the handling with a 255 on front and 285 or 295 on the back (seems very narrow front and wide back) but I think there are alot of people running that combo so it can't be too bad.

You can take advantage of having very wide rear tires by having more negative camber. Folks who need to run high negative camber in the rear while desiring good straight line traction is by running relatively wide tires at the back.

Everybody has different preference when it comes to tire and suspension settings. It really depends on what you are limited to.

Are you limited to only 8.5j front and 11j rear? The wheels you want to purchase only come in this combination of sizes? Are you limited by fender clearance?

8.5j/11j is strange setup for a front engine car. But you may use it to your advantage.

255/35 front and 285/35 rear is common, handles like poo , but won't be as bad as 295/30 rear.

Front tires are taller than rear.

Looks like a 295/30/19 is only .06" shorter... Better than that 285 ^^

why would a 255 front matched with 285 rear handle like poo?

is it too big of a difference between 255 and 285?

The Z already understeers like an old chevy, then you increase the difference in width between front and rear, understeer increases.

currently i'm on 18x9.5 front and rear with 285s. I like how that handles. However I may be able to pick up some

20x8.5 +28 front/rear setup -rays for dirt cheap.

I'd run 20mm spacer out back and 15mm front. Would it look like ****? I'm not into stretch look just mild flush is ok.

would 245 tires non-stagger ruin the handling? is this "deal" not worth it? I drive really conservative on roads and felt the 285 squared was way overkill. Perhaps leave that setup for special track days?

Z's are heavy cars... i've found a fat tire up front is just as necessary as some out back. I personally try to keep it somewhat close to square. So i'd go with a bit wider front wheels, otherwise yes you will experience a bit more understeer. I'm running 275-40/18R rear and 265-35/18R front. I like it, but most people don't want that much tire wall on the rear. Either way i'd try to get the widths a little closer together.

255 front/285 rear will provide a nice handling street car. The closest to this that I have personal experience is 245/275, and that drove very well on the street. A 30mm difference front to rear does have noticeable understeer, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing for a street setup. When driving on the street, you never push so hard that this amount of understeer is a factor other than just providing safer handling.

It may not be the best setup for the track though (where understeer can push you into cones, hay bales, etc.).

If you go with 255/285 on 19” wheels, these tires sizes will work:

Front: 255/35-19”
Rear: 285/35-19”

Agree with Spike.

I have 255/35/19 and 285/35/19. If you go with 245/35/19 front, then get 275/35/19 rear. Typical setup on the 350Z's.

As far as the front wheels (19x8.5 w/ +35mm offset), it will be awful looking since the wheels will be tucked in a lot. And running 19x11 +20 wheels in the rear will make them stick out of the fender and you'll need to run a few neg. degree camber to make them look right.

Worse case, you can always add spacers to your front wheels to make them look better with the rear.

What are the wheels?
