My tire sizes are below, straight from the invoice

225/45R18 XL 95 BSW
245/45R-18 96 BSW

edit:
as i said in my OP, the 8 and 8.5 dont mean anything to me as far as rims go. Just whatever width will fit these tires. Will 18x9 work on the rears?

I still don't think you have enough money to be looking for wheels. There is nothing wrong with keeping the stock wheels until you are able to afford something decent.

You're doing this all wrong....

how am I doing this all wrong? Are my tires abnormally small that buying rims to fit these specs would be a waste of money? Are enkies not a good brand? I heard they are.

Money isnt quite the issue now, its getting a set of rims im happy with

Yep, you can go with an 8.0-9.5" wheel with a 245/45. You may or may not get a "stretched" look, it depends on the exact tire. I personally think a little stretch looks awesome, and if there's any stretch at all it will be very minimal. Perfectly safe.

On the front, you can do a 7.5-9"

He is trying to be nice but he is right. You do not have the budget for a wheel and tire setup that will look impressive at this time. The tire sizes you are insisting on using are too narrow to fit a rim width that is not only a visual upgrade over stock but a performance upgrade as well. An aftermarket 9" wide wheel in the rear is a joke and not worth spending any money on, same with an 8" wheel for the front. You will need spacers to make those wheels look adequate and as you have already learned this is a no-no. Wait until you have more money for wider tires so you can buy wider wheels to fit into them otherwise you are flushing money down the toilet.

haha ok, the masses have spoken and i have seen the error of my ways.

What would be acceptable, nay, respectable size tires and rims size to buy as an aftermarket upgrade? For performance purposes, its best to say at 18 right? 19 is heavier, and also more expensive.

Wheels:
I heard 18x9.5 +20 all around was good for a squared setup
But i want to go staggered, so 18x8.5 +20, 18x10 +20 if possible
Really like the TSW Zolder (Multi-spoke) and Valencia (Mesh) that was posted.

All-Season Tires:
If i get the above rims, what are the maximum recommended size for tires?
I heard 245/40, 275/40 mentioned as being good
Ive heard good things about all 3, is there a big difference for a daily driver? Sometimes track, autox.
-Falken FK-452 as low priced
-Goodyear Eagle GTs are medium priced
-Mich. Sport A/S Plus are high priced

I like it, you are keeping an open mind and are learning. I don't know much about the appropriate 18" tire sizes, I jumped to 19", running 9.5 up front and 10.5 out back with 235/35/19 and 275/35/19. I believe you are correct in 40 series profiles being correct for 18" wheels. Play with the tire calculators to determine that your VDC won't be bothered by your choices. Also check tire rack for the specs on the tires you decide on to choose a proper width based on the wheel width of your choosing. I like your newly decided rear 10" width, now you're talking. Staggered is nice, but can you bump up that front wheel width? Much of this is offset dependent but my 9.5's barely sit flush, and they were made with offsets for the 350z in mind. Go big or go home

Edit: Check the aftermarket wheel showoff threads, they should have specs listed with the pictures so that will be a big help in deciding the look you want

edit. Its hard to find rims 18x10 that i like. Do i need 10 on the rear and 8.5 up front? Is there any different in the following setups?

Setup 1:
245/275/40 tires
18x8.5/18x10 +20

Setup 2:
245/275/40 tires
18x9.5 +20 all around.

Is 245 too small on a 9.5?

I have 9.5x19 on 245/35/19 front and rear because TSW doesn`t make 19s in 10,5. TSW makes only 20s 10"

Basically, i know i can do 245/275 with 8.5 front and 10 rear. so what are the benefits of a bigger tire size? just more stroking of the ego? better acceleration?

Default V2 Touring powder coated glossy black

These dont look too bad. didnt know you could add a second color to a non-lipped rim (edit: and have it not look like complete crap). The guys said its called a 'pinstripe'. Interesting. I may do this to my car instead of buying new rims. Wont get the chrome I wanted, but may save a ton of money if i do this right

Looks great!
Its one of the nicest "refurbs" of OEM wheels I've seen.
Are the pinstripes decals?Several guys in this area put on these curved decals
(originally made for bikes)on their wheels.Excellent results, minimal expense!

my car is solar orange. so now, get all the all black, or a little strip of silver.

and those rim decals, on nice rims, seems rather tacky to be honest. bikes would be fine tho.

edit:
no stripe

silver stripe

I have a question about powder-coating lol. Why do some people say you have to let it set for a week? There is a local guy here that does wheels for $200 which includes sand blasting!!! He told me that they would be ready to put tires back on in just a few hours. They just needed to cool off for a while...can anyone shed some light on this subject for me?
