Default What size tires fit stock touring rim?

Hey guys, I tried to search before I posted, but couldn't find what I was looking for. If there is a thread discussing this, I apologize.

My rear tires are worn out and I want to get something a little bigger. What is the largest tire I can comfortably fit on the stock PREMIUM touring rims (2004)? I'm still running 225/45/r18 on the front, is this going to seriously screw up my VDC?

Thanks guys.

Also, any specific tire recommendations that are around or under $200 a tire, have good tread life and decent performance?

Unfortunately, you've got 8s in the rear...right? So, you're limited by the rim width. A 255/45/18 is the largest tire you can fit (properly) on an 8" wide rim.
It will be only slightly taller (.3') than the stock 245/45s. VDC should not object, since this is only a 1% difference. Any other wider sizes will be stretched on that rim.

I have the same question as well. I'd like to upsize in the front and rear on the stock V1 Touring rims. What setups are everyone running without interference from VDC.

Thanks,

For wheel-tire width see: http://www.tiresandco.ca/equivalency-tables-advice.html

Right, but what would a 245/40/18 front (only ~1% difference according to tire calculator) and 245/45/18 rear look like? This should pass VDC...anyone done this setup?

If you keep the vertical height (e.g., overall diameter) near the same as stock, you won’t have any problem with various sizes (different widths).

Wheel size (height and width) is irrelevant when comparing tire sizes.

Very good setup , great for handling. Will look the same as OEM, just slightly wider up front, no girl will ever notice.
