Question slightly different weight wheels on one side of car?

i found a pretty good deal on a set of rims but one entire side is a different rim than the other. i'd say about couple lbs difference from one side to the other.

both fronts and both rears are same sizes and offsets tho.

can this work?

You mean one side is literally a different style rim than the other?

I've seen cars with two different style wheels on each side. I think for a bit it was "the thing", but never caught on. Pretty ricey. Also saw like some TE37's which were blue on one side of the car and silver on the other - but that's the same wheel, not a totally different one side-to-side.

As long as the wheels are the same size with matching tires I don't think it will actually harm anything (diff/vdc whack).

Personally, I wouldn't try it but if you do, let us know how it turns out

Yes of course it would work but the main question is why would you want to do this?

I would suggest you keep searching for another alternative, unless your car is sponsored by a wheel company this look is tacky for a street car

not completely different... almost same style.
both are ten spoke, but one has the fake rivets, other one doesn't.

Most guys will not try that because it is not the norm so if you are basing your decision on what most guys think it will be "NO". That should not stop you from trying though.

I personally wouldn't try this. I dont like the idea of driving in a straight line and having a different angular momentum on one side of the car compared to the other. The asymmetry of the whole thing is too funky IMO.

That's not a good enough excuse, keep looking

You can do this but I wouldn't recommend it obviously. I've seen different finishes on each side being pulled off but not different wheel models.

If the weight balance/distribution and weight of the wheel itself is IDENTICAL to the other then I dont see it as big deal. Much less ricey then having different styles front to back IMO, unless its for a reason ie drift spares.

As a follow up to this. Im about to put a same size/width/offset wheel on my right rear as I damaged the other, but the new wheel is like 5 lbs lighter than the other 3. This is only temporary (few weeks) till the damaged one gets fixed.

Any negative effects of this? Car might pull? Wont damage LSD? Lighter wheel will slip first?

Using it for a few weeks won't make a difference, 5lbs difference is nothing and you won't even notice it

You shouldn't have an issue.

Why stop at the wheels? I say get four different types of tires, all of them different sizes.
