Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport review.
i thought id give a quick review on these tires. my set up is 255-40-18/275-40-18. my previous tires where conit sport contact 3 (very sticky, lasted 12k), donlop sport maxx(most expensive, lasted 7k)
i got these from discount tire in the beginning of april, and today i am at about 40% thread. or almost at the wear bar. so thats only about 12k miles on them.
traction is average or not as good as the 265 conti sport 3. honestly they have as must forward grip as the 245-45-18 donlops, but the donlops are 240 wear rated and only lasted 7k miles.
wet driving. these are SCARY to drive in the current condition(40%). any standing water will make the rear hydroplane like crazy. (luckily it don't rain much in texas). when they were new they handled the rain pretty good. a little hydroplane here and there but thats expected of a summer tire.
handling feels great in the dry. very precise steering. the rear let you know when you were out of traction by predictably sliding out. but these tires do need to warm up before you push them other wise they are slippery.
right now they look like slicks almost as the thread design got wore out. overall i think its good for the price, about $200 for each tire. but not sure if im gonna replace them with the same tire.

If you wanna stick with bridgestone i'd suggest the S04 or if treadlife isn't your concern the RE-11. The new S04 is much nicer than the 760. The RE-11 i'm using on my Z is a blast, not really much of a wet weather tire but I haven't been scared by them yet. They aren't worn much at all though. Dry grip is simply fantastic all around.
I forget that the price makes them out of range for that comparison, I work at firestone and get a good deal on them, but they are pretty awesome. I personally don't recommend the 760 for any reason.

yeah, there are better all round preforming tires for the money. they only thing i like is the steering feel. dry traction and driving in the rain is its downfall. the donlops were way better.
id also like to add. i put the almost full tread 255 in the rear and some back up tires in the front because its raining all week and i want some traction. the 255 re760 hydroplaned like crazy. i had to drive 55mph on the highway and i was still all over the road. definitely not fun.
pic comparing the rear 275 to the front 255 with about 12k miles on them.
