They also told me that it would be okay for me to drive around with the wheels because even it the crack went all the way through, the bolts would keep the wheel in place.

Btw, I haven't been driving on them.

I don't know about that. I would think if it was really a known issue, you'd see at least a thread or two on this site about it. Infinitely more knowledge and experience here than at some tire store.
To see if impact damage is a real possibility, check the wheels for roundness, and lateral runout. If there isn't any of each, I'd say you might have a claim, but positive results really would indicate impact damage.
In any case, good luck getting them repaired/replaced, and I'd be mighty careful driving the car with those cracked wheels.

Agreed about not driving on cracked wheels, but those aren't the same whee;s as pictured above, so that's not a valid data point.

Don't be a d!ck though and not mention it in the ad or to the person. They can then decide if they want to buy it or not, after full disclosure, and you will have a clear conscience.
Might as well keep the tires if they are still good.

Sell them. Let it be somebody else's problem.

take them to your local recycle center.....they will weight them and pay you for them...
most likely they will mail you a check a few weeks later (depending on your state/city and their laws). they will take your drivers license, pic of your vehicle license plate and get all your info and mail you a check later.
i recycled crappy/dented oem wheels some time back....

junk those wheels and check the wheels carefully if you buy on craigslist, you can get a whole set of 17'' oems for like 300 or go to a salvage yard and find a cheap set of oems. Don't sell the crack rim, not worth passing the risk on to anyone else by selling them. dealer invoice is a joke, you could go get volks for the price they want for oem lol

for the record i once drove 3 miles with a flat in the back. i didnt kno cept for this squishy sound i was hearing everytime the car moved. since i was almost home i figured id just drive slowly and inspect the sound later. to my surprise i had a flat lol.. the wheel survived no cracks or anything. just a shredded tire.

About a week ago my wheels (2007 also) had the same defect. My spoke is completely cracked all around. I am just buying aftermarket when I get paid. Dealer wanted $800 for one OEM wheel lol.
