Default Studs are Short on 2008 Nissan 350z

Friends
Recently I purchased 17 inch rims and snow tires through Craiglist. My current time size is 18 inch and I thought I can downsize without any issue. But last week I took my car to Nissan dealer to do the tire/wheel change and they didn't do it saying studs are shorter to fit the new rims. Is there a way to fix this issue and use these rims and tires on my Z?

Tire Specifications are as below-

New Tire Size:
17" Front: 225/50-17
17" Rear: 225/55-17

Current Tie Size:
18" Front: 225/45-18
18" Rear: 245/45-18

Lug Pattern:
5*114.3

Thank You Everyone!

If they are the same bolt pattern they should just line right up, what are the offsets?

You can always get longer studs installed to run those tires but I find it odd that they didn't line up right off the bat

Hello Waizzz!
I'm not sure about the offset. How I can find it?

Sometimes, the size and offset are cast into the back of the wheel (usually near the hub). But you can also research the wheel if you know who manufactured it and what model it is. Are we trying to advise you on aftermarket wheels, or are these OEM Z wheels?

Can you at least get us a photo of the wheels? (mounted would be great)

I have a feeling they are not meant for our car and are instead meant for a FWD car

If studs length was a problem, get lug nuts with extended thread.

What? If the dealer is saying the studs are too short, how is a lug nut with extended thread going to help? There will just be more unused threads on the lug nut.

I don't really understand what issue the OP is having, horribly incorrect offset like someone already mentioned sounds likely. But if he does in fact have too short of studs, different lug nuts won't help.

I assumed the 17" wheels have a thicker pad and the stock lug nuts didn't get enough thread engagement.
