Default Wheel suggestion for... my 67 year old parents!

ok ok, let me explain..

My parents have the Z pictured below. They are conservative, but also like sporty. Hope that makes sense. Mom hit a guard rail (only accident in 10 years with it) so its in the body shop and they decided they want to upgrade the wheels while they are at it.

We went to tire rack and pretty much decided on Enkei Raijin in silver. But they are also open to suggestions. Suggestions? Also, what offset? Will the OEM Nissan centercaps replace the Enkei ones in terms of size, if we go with those?

*Must be stock wheel size
*Must be silver

The car:

I vote Enkei.

Enkei centercaps 64mm

Nissan centercaps are less than 2 inches (50.8mm)

Found with google by a drunk guy.

+1 vote for the Enkei Raijins. I have a set of the matte gunmetal (+35mm offset) Raijins for use with my rain tires and just love 'em.

Any way you could share a pic of how they look on your z? I'm more interested in the 35 offset and how that sits. What's the stock offset?

Arent these like 23-25lbs, how bad did that hurt your track time? Thats like 7lbs from the rpf1. You HAVE to feel the difference

Driver skill.

They used lead wheels on the school cars when I went.

Before lead was a bad thing and it protected Superman from Kryptonite.

Yuk yuk yuk.... 😛

Yea but if youre running the best possible track time, say 1:23:45, i would imagine adding 7lbs on each corner would bump that time up some.

The Raijins are mounted with BFGoodrich rain tires, so they might affect lap times a bit, but nothing like what rain and a greasy track will do! For a dry track, I use the RPF-1s and PF-01s for less unsprung weight.

I use 20mm H&R spacers up front with all the Enkeis.

You use bolt on spacers at the track? Or do you have extended studs with slip on spacers? Just curious...

Op enkei seems like a great option, think tire rack recommends the 15offset 18x9.5 rear 18x8.5 25offset front... This setup is very attractive.and probably 67 year old friendly

The 20 mm H&R spacers just slip on over the extended ARP studs in the front of the race Z. Not my preferred solution, but cheap and durable.

Thanks I thought about it aftet I posted that and was thinking you wrote the diy on the replacing studs so pretty sure you had arp extended studs.

Ive been trying to talk myself into spacers, it hasn't been going well.

Wait, in that pic, are there spacers installed? If so that's something I need to take into consideration. Misleading pic!! I kid.

Thanks for the hard numbers. My dad just says he does NOT want the tires sticking out from the car. Flush is max. Are your numbers compatible?

They will look like this, you judge.

I’m loving how flush both front and back look(I know…front isn’t as aggressive as back but it’s perfect for me) No rubbing or modifications or spacers…PERFECT.

I know some will say “needs moar lows” and see this….

But I am totally happy with the height…plenty low and no drop needed for me.

Thanks again to members Waiz, Terrasmak, and Spike100, MicVelo, Travlee, GPD and Dboyzalter for the knowledge and advice.

I vote for Kojins - they look much cleaner for me with their 5-spoke design
